Balance is not the act of balancing out both sides so as to make sure that the thing doesn't fall over..

It is the act of using the correct amount of power/energy to make up for the lack of substence(weight, etc.)so as to make it impossible to move that one side, thus making all attempts at stopping the movement of the item, which would make the other move, impossible.
