Edmond Theon Les's Life - #05

Hi everyone, here's one of the melancholic phrases from my new blog:

My name is Edmond Theon, but you can call me Les

_ Every day I wake up and try to feel good about myself; everyday I fail, even go to sleep hating myself a little bit more.

Willing to live in death, Les

Yo can find my blod as: Edmond Theon Les's Life

Quick question, hombre. How did you choose the name of the blog?

Second pregunta, por favor. What are you hoping to accomplish with said blog?

Third question, amigo. Did anyone truly believe America gave Hugo Chavez cancer?

First: Just a name tha came out on the moment.
Second: I like to write, and many times I though phrases and many times they don't fit on what I'm writing... so, a way to not waste them that I found was making the blog and post them.
Third: Only stupid ones, and believe me, they exist.

...

Primera pregunta, mujer: Do you speak spanish?
Segunda pregunta, por favor: Why you ask?
Tercera pregunta, amiga: Can we just not talk about that kind of stuffs?

My espanol is mierda. I know enough to get by in Mexico and Home Depot. Plus most of the offensive and dirty words.

I asked the second because I'm trying to be nice. Consider it a failed experiment. And I don't particularly care about what anyone thinks of America, but I've legit never spoken to anyone from Venezuela so figured I shouldn't squander my opportunity.

Well, is almost impossible not to learn the offensive and dirty words haha, I guess.
I though it was a nice thing to ask, and thanks for it, sorry if I sounded otherwise.
For the last, is just that I think could be plenty other things about Venezuela that people could ask rather than precisly that subject... and gladfuly I could respond.

The restaurant I worked at in high school had Mexican dishwashers. They kept saying a certain word over and over again when they saw me. I asked my spanish teacher, and he didn't know what it meant. Turns out it was Mexican slang for 'pussy'.

I don't know anything about Venezuela other than it's a country and I think that chick from The Mummy Returns and the really crap Syfy Thor movie is from there and also that we gave the former leader cancer.

Educate us, bro. EDUCATE.

Hahahaha yeah, and not only cancer, for all they know, USA also is guilty for us not having food or basic stuffs.
Well... I'm not sure if she's in fact from Venezuela... but perhaps you know Edgar Ramirez.
And btw, hate when people thinks is funny insulting others just because they don't understand what they are talking about. Here we have a lot of that from Chinese people. (Not all of them of course)

I insult people all the time on the internets, but in person I'm not at all abrasive. I'm dismissive and condescending but not outright rudely insulting. I despise obnoxious and aggressive people.

In London we see that a lot. The Chinese (and continental EU) tourists are abrasive to the point of being obnoxious. They may be quieter about it, but the end result is that they are pushy and rude and utterly self-absorbed. The American tourists, however, are generally louder in volume but more subdued with how they interact with their surroundings. Unless anyone mentions WWII, in which case that's when the shit starts.

What's Venezuela like really? I mean on the real level. Do you have a serious food crisis or is that hyperbole?

We do. Let me put it this way: people in here at the moment earns a base salary of 10.8$ per month.
1kg of cheese costs 1$
1kg of rise costs 0.50$
A normal rent (not owning the place) costs around 10$
(I'm not including basic stuffs like other meals, services like transport or internet)

So, and I am not exaggerating, if you wanna buy food you actually have to pray for markets have something useful and at a not so highly price.

In addition to that, we have people who buy food and other stuffs really hard to find and sell it at prices you wouldn't believe. (And they are a lot of them that made a business over it).

Oh... so authorities should do something about it.... well they do, they do the same but worst and are actually even more dangerous that the crime itself.

Now... imagine those 10.8 dollars... a mid modern cellphone can be found here in not less than 11.6$ ... the very last and modern models like an IPhone 6 or 7 you can buy it around the 467.7$ ... ... earning 10.8 per month -.-" ... literally in here you use the money to survive and have to save for weeks just for have fun with friends one day every 2 or 3 months.

And... that's one person. Imagine having to maintain a family...

Is pretty hard and depressing having to survive in a country that actually have a lot that can do to better lifestyle.

"Well... get out"... an airplane ticket is over the 200$ even till 1500$... not to mention the corruption around the paper work.

People can come from the outside as tourist and dollars they bring are like gold.

And it can be, just have to live here but still earning the same amount of dollars you earn.
If you don't, you'll see a 11$ (at least, can be way more), rent earning 10.8$ is really hard to maintain and not die of hunger.
As I said, $ is gold in Venezuela... € even more.

This is actually quite fascinating. How did it all happen? Doesn't Venezuela sit on a fuck ton of oil?

Sorry, I didn't mean to call your national tragedy "fascinating". What I mean is it's interesting to talk to someone who is actually there living in it. All we get are biased articles with an agenda to either support or condemn your leaders.

You have to assume there's some sort of humanitarian crisis going on. That's totally unsustainable without a whole lotta very uncomfortable death. fr0g's right. Mostly what we read is coming from a certain ideological slant, pushing an agenda. Nothing really getting into the meat of it. I don't wanna be a dick and say it's "fascinating" (ahem), but it definitely was informative.

I so badly want to send you some Kraft macaroni and cheese, but I fear the cost of the butter/milk needed to make it would be like 3 times your paycheck. Top Ramen it is!

No wonder your blog is melancholy. For realsies.

Well, the intention is well appreciated

I'm not gonna lie, since the first year of highschool I'm pretty melancholic haha. It started for my attraction to horror movies and after that I started to write. Eventually I adopted as a main "gender".

In personal life of course depression is constantly present for the situation, the frustration and some kind of anger, and that's not just me, is almost the third part of the population. The saddest part is that Venezuelans tends to be highly joyful about everything... don't get me wrong, there's plenty Venezuelans in other countries that can't behavior as well citizens and let down our image hehe.
