depression

ok your probly gonna think im retarded for posting this but i will anyways i need some adivse latly im depression has got so worse and one min ill b up on top of the world all happy and hsit and the next ill want to die and eel like shit the thing is the change is so quick and wen im in a depressed mood i cant get outta it no matter wot i do. the smallest comment can send me into a really low mood plz help

not really advice for help for you depression- it's been said before. do you really want to hear it?

but a way to use it. get pencil and paper and just create things in the paper. be they words, scribbles or images. i find it helps when i'm angry or sad. at the very least, it gives you something to do, and the end of it, some decent work might appear.

Learn some martial arts. That should give you some confidence about yourself.

Mood swings. Stabilise them... Either chemically (prozac or the such), sonically (relaxing music), or physically (meditation), or a combination of these three. A combination is most likely the most effective.

as somone said ...be creative.

If there is any instrument near by, play it, even if you dont know how.

Or

Write your feelings down.

I used to do many things like this. First i used to draw, but that got boring and made me frusterated if i didnt feel liek drawing.

So i listened to music, and wrote down bits of lyrics from songs, that i liked words, and whatnot.

Now i write my feelings down, in sort of notes to myself.

I know of many many people who write there emotions down, in a journal or on random pieces of paper.

I say its the best way to lift spirits. It will put you at a state where you cope, and think about everything and why your depressed. Sounds like it doesnt help. But when you are a terms with feelings you will feel better...trust me...


if all else fails, keep posting here, many people are eager to help, and there will be many you can relate too...

When I'm in a really low mood. I write letters. Whether they be to anyone I know or not, I never send them though its just a way of getting it all out and sometimes I write in a diary because I don't really like talking about things with people face to face. As other people have said on here, listening to music is a ood way of calming down and sometimes it helps to lift your mood ( unless your listening to the radio and something really shite comes on then you feel like you wanna break the radio in 2 ( damn Sophie Ellis Bexter))

i'm not a dr or anything, but it kind of sounds like you're bipolar... you may want to see a dr about that, get some lithium...

if you don't want to do that, my suggestion would be to find some kind of creative outlet, be it writing, singing, drawing, excercise may even help because it releases endorphins... maybe some yoga would help. or get some tarot cards and do meditations off them... some decks have a meditation that goes with each card... these are all things i did in combinations... even more so now that i'm trying to stop cutting... living proof that anythings possible to conquer... i've gone almost 2 months now...
