hehe.... I wonder what Sam will have to say about this...
I think this is the single longest post I have ever seen you make..
Your Information is correct from what I know... I am discussing the Graven Image thing with Sam right now...
He is using the "Well God Commanded that the Ark was made" defense when posed with the question of why Crosses bearing the Graven Image of Jesus are put upon Altars of Worship...
I am sure he will take the whole
"Sorry CRYPT you do not understand Scripture" route with you as he is doing with me...
Yet As I said your Quotes from the Bible are valid and the comparisons are also... It has been proven that the Bible Contradicts itself.... I only wonder if Sam will pull the blinders off long enough to see that...???
Doubtful...
I see it though...
I was far to lazy to attempt to get those quotes from the bible myself.... I am glad you took the time to do it...

Re: Biblical Contradictions

I'm assuming we can respond to this....

1) God was speaking with Jesus, who had a pre-human existance in heaven. God made Jesus in his likeness, meaning in form.
same for #2

When it says God is one God...that's exactly what it means. Jesus is great and can be considered A God, but he's not thee God, he must still answer to God.

When Jehovah said he had not made his name known to Abraham and the other men of old

2) Exodus 6:2, 3 It is here for the f irst time that Jehovah makes known the real MEANING of his name, associating it with his specific purpose and establishing it as a memorial. His name means "He causes to become" so He made that meaning of his name known for the first time to Moses and his purspose

Well the nephilim came about by angels that mated with the human women. After they were destroyed by the flood, they returned back to heaven and committed the same thing afterwards.

4) Well the actual word in the first scripture is "regret" God had regretted in making man, for they were causing such ruin. The same in 1 Samuel, he had regret that he had made Saul as King for he was not following commands. The scripture that says that he does not regret, means if he has a set purpose, he won't go back on it, but carry his promises through

5)My translation of the Bible doesnt use it in that context. In both instances it says that Enoch and Elijah were taken by God. For they continued to walk with the true God til they were very old and tired, and so Jehovah put them to rest.

6)The "kinds" of animals selected had referance to the clear cut and unalterable bounderies set by the creator, within which boundaries creatures are capable of breeding" "according to their kinds" The breeding boundaries accordingto "kind" established by Jehovah were not and could not be crossed. That the great variety of animal life known today could have come from the inbreeding within so few "kinds" following the Flood is proved by the endless variety of humansKind- short, tall fat, think, with countless variations of hair, skin, eyecolor etc....

7)In the log that Noah kept, it appears he used months of 30 days each, 12 of them equaling 360 days. In this way, he avoided all the complicated fractions involved had he used strictly lunar months consisting of slightly more than 291/2 days. That such calculations were used in the account is evident from the fact that a five-month period consisted of 150 days. It rained forty days and forty nights, but it didn't dry up for 150 days...i guess it stopped raining but it hadn't yet dried up for that time.

8)What was meant in that scripture was dialects of there language Hebrew. Many different forms of speaking it.

continued....9)In that last scripture stated it says "God is not a god of disorder, but a God of peace" Though when it comes to his will, and those wanting to step in his way, Jehovah will use means to destroy those people. In both instances people were doing wrong.

10) too complicated for my itty bitty brain.

11)No one sees God?
Jehovah made his image, or appearance seen to Abraham and the others. By means of a reflection, or cloud or even vision. He wasn't physically seen by them because the scripture states "No one can see God and live" so He was seen by other means.

12)is God fair and Righteous?
I'm not even going to get into this one, God knows what he's doing, i'm not about to challenge his power and judgement, and i don't think anyone should. You must read into the history of those accounts why those things were done..and by which means they were done.

1Keturah was a second wife, who never attained to the same position as Sara, mother of Isaac. Men had many wives back then.

14)In Genesis 37:28 it states "Now when Midianite merchants went passing by. Hence they drew and lifted up Joseph from the waterpit and then sold Joseph to the Ishamaelites for twenty silver pieces and tehy eventually brought Joseph into Egypt. The Midianites sold him into egypt..not in egypt....along the way the others bought him, and they sold him to potiphar

15)Where did Jacob die?
The scripture said he was TRANSFERRED to sychem from where he was.

16)He commended the mid wives for lying to the king of egypt because if they hadn't it would have destroyed his messenger in the future, Moses. It was in accordance with His will.

continued again...damn length restriction

17) His people were freed from Egypt, they were to take from the Egyptians what they had gotten from the slaves labor.

18)The scripture at 4:11 does not say that he is the maker of those deaf, and speechless and mute, he says he appoints power to them, he strengthens them to make them able to carry out his will. This is true because Moses was complaining to Jehovah that he had a speech impediment and could never go and speak to the Egyptians and pharaoh.

19) I don't feel this is very relavant.

20)God is a God of war, when He feels the right for it. When people are trying to intervene with his will.

21) This was a testimony to all who was behind Noah. To show all who had disobeyed God. He never told Noah to worship those things, nor did he call them images.

22)Don't really understand this statement

2 He wasn't condemning the selling of daughters. He was saying incase a man were to...this is how they'd have to be treated.

24) What it means by God inscribing them, was by inspiration. Which is the means by which the Bible was written. He didn't himself write it.

25) He was saying that he had never commanded them to make offerings and sacrifices to other gods, that is what they were doing. They found that to be the point of worship..He was saying that wasn't the important thing, listening to His voice, and giving him exclusive devotion was.

Of course we know not which denomination....Maybe one day Ophelia will share that with us...
The Quotes that Crypt has presented are not taken out of context.. rather they show blatant textual evidence of the diferentiating tales told of your God... to say that the Bible does not contradict itself is akin to saying that a car runs off three blind mice.... which we all know that cars use internal combustion engines... and also know that the Bible has its fair share of lies, half-truths and blatant contradictions....
Hey Darktiggr... love this weather or what???
