I'm with you on that one, totally! Where it all began... my favourite is still Swamp Terrorist, and I love Young Gods too... and Fear Factory.
I pretty much loathe the whole techno direction Industrial has gone with the birth of EBM. I may as well go to a rave, it all sounds the bloody same in the end.

*nods* I can stand techno in small doses (1 song), but after a while the repetition tends to numb my brain. My tolerence for techno-industrial is somewhat higher, but not much.

I'm probably showing my age here, but I still remember hearing Ministry's first album, when they were whoring to the corporation and sounded like a New Order ripoff...

Just off the top of my head:

Try http://www.syntheticcreations.com/forceofnature and ask Peter Lee for his Dark Transmissions comp. It'll put you back $10, because it's a real CD and shrinkwrapped and all.. but it's full of really good dark ambient, powernoise and minimalist rhythmic noise. Ask Kyle, he owns it, it's a 5-star CD.
Email him at eleminster3@hotmail.com

Also... I'm working on a select 8 Kaos Tr1o songs and perfecting them. Not to toot my own horn, but they are starting to not suck as much as they did before, and I actually like them. It could still be a few more months before they see the light of day, but I'm still proud.

Oscillating fans are for idiots with small dicks.

The combination of dark socio-strong moody lyrics with techno beats and synth pop rhythms have created some very strong and enjoyable EBM projects and musical acts that clearly differentiate from main stream hard house and sets them apart from what DJ's spin at your average rave.

I’m not saying you have to like it. And I’ll grant you that there are lots of acts & projects that sound exactly alike and are each other’s rip offs but to compare them to main stream techno and or hard house is a bit crude.

I only meant to use that analogy to show the repetitiveness of the sound, in the sense that you cannot distinguish the one song from the next. And yes, if you are a hardcore fan of these genres you will be able to tell them apart, just like trance-heads know their stuff, but to me it all sounds the same!

I just listened to the music. Not bad, but a little empty. Needs more in the melody department. Beats and bursts with little zappy noises only go so far. When I get some of my shit up (Chaos), I will link to it.

Actually, that would be Machines of Loving Grace, and yes they kick ass. I don't know if I'd go so far as to call their first album completely industrial though.

lately i've been alternating a lot between old stuff (einsturzende neubauten, liabach, early KMFDM, early FLA and Front 242) and newer powernoise and noise stuff like Navicon Toture Technologies, Tarmvred, Antigen Shift and my Force of Nature, NCC and Annihilvs comps.

INDUSTRIAL IS POWER!

So... do you guys like the EBM and Electro-Industrial more than the Industrial Metal stuff?

... and why doesn't anyone like powernoise!? (aside from the fact that their CDs haven't been shipped yet)

Personally, I'm really into Harsh EBM, Powernoise and the more bizarre electro-Industrial stuff that isn't just keyboards, drum samples and crappy girlie-man vocals.
My favorite bands include FUSSPILS11, Funker Vogt, Pneumatic Detach and :wumpscut:
Currently I've been really into Synapscape, Asche, Aslan Faction and Winterkalte.

I have a "Sophmoric Industrial Humor" project called "the KAOS TR1O" and it sucks right now. Try the MP3s.

How industrial are you?

Hey Random#! Im going to see Funker Vogt live on July 3!!!

I like Covenant, Project Pitchfork, Razed in Black. KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, Velvet Acid Christ, HeadScan, Wolfshiem, Engelstaub,

Tell them that Ian Evil says hi, and I want my beat back! ...damn thieving Dutch.

That's good list of bands. Try some Aslan Faction and Terrorfakt while you're at it. Depending on who's doing the tour, they might even be selling albums by those two at the show.

Because Funker Vogt stole my beat?
Or because I like to tell everyone what to listen to?

Our Dj at the industrial night just got some terrorfakt, so he will play it on wednesday..

I just want to pass on this link for our local goth/industrial scene it has a funny look at "the 5 stages of Industrial elitism"

Go to www.Darkcalgary.com, then BBS and look in the Music section
