Today's Music

There's a big difference between music from the 70's compared to 90's music. However, after the end of Grunge Rock in 1995, music hasn't changed. It still sounds the same.

Go figure.

I totally agree with you. Music in 70's was a classic. No genre was present that sounded irritating. Now the music is all about trance and R&B. Even romantic songs are now mixed with various beats. I still admire music of 70's and i always have a huge playlist in my iPod that i take special time to listen.

I like modern dance music. To me, disco is OK. I don't hate disco as much as most people I know do.

That's because it's all been done before. Everything that could ever be played has been played so everybody just plays what sounds the best, which is bassy music with catchy lyrics.

@MainerMikeBrown: Yes, that's 90 % true. The most music sounds like the same. But the problem is, the most musicians nowadays are commercial and has regulations from their labels. If had a hit, your next song has to sounds like your previous song/hit. And the most listener aren't realy interesting in music. Everywhere you can hear or read "What's your favourit genre?: hip hop, rap, trance, techno, everything.". The most listeners don't fiddle with the music intensive anymore. Their meaning is "It's a good song of the band "XYZ", because they have a video on MTV. And a lot of people like it. It has to be a good song. And if I don't have the song, i'm not "in".". Almost today it's enough for a band to release a hit, have a good management, a good image and you will be famous. After your hit, you can release bad songs more and more - it doesn't matter. The most listeners nowaday say "The medias (tv, radio, internet and so on) say the band is good. Because of that I like this band too.". Unfortunately it is so.
