I don't believe so. In this great recession of the last few years, one of the few industries to thrive is the video game industry. As long as there is a demand, there will be a supply, and demand doesn't seem to be slipping for interactive entertainment.

Thats not to say that consoles won't merge with other technology, but the core function of playing video games will continue.
