i'm not sure how long ago this was shown in the US, but it just aired tonight here in the UK. great night of boxing, but some diabolical judging.

alfonso's fight was clear cut, it went entirely his way, but i still thought the ref' shouldn't have stopped it. his opponent deserved to see the fight through, it wasn't as if he was stumbling or in any way concust.

jesse vs anthony was the worst of the three. flat out, the worst decision i've ever seen in boxing. jesse knew it, after the fight was over he shook his head, and the guy still had the nerve to showboat once the decision was made. a genuine fuck!

sergio vs peter manfredo was a little closer in certain rounds, but peter won the fight hands down. his boxing was clever and precise, sergio was looking amateurish, that style of lunging in every once in a while got old fast. peter deserved to win. even slater from saved by the bell fucking agreed, as soon as he was done interviewing you could clearly read his lips telling peter he'd deserved to win. and i'm glad peter actually had the guts to tell sergio to his face that he didn't win. and make no mistake, that cut came from a punch, there was no headbutt.

anyone know if another series is planned? i heard something said about november, but didn't quite catch it.

I don't think they showed the rematch on broadcast tv here. I certainly would have watched it. They might have showed it on some cable station I suppose. But thanks for the update on what happened, I had no idea at all.

i had no idea it was happening either, i just happened to catch a commercial a few days back. there didn't seem to be much publicity this time around.

and just to clear up for ya, sergio beat manfredo, but manfredo deserved it. i re-read my post and it probably reads the other way around for someone who didn't see the fight.

Sucks... I liked Peter Manfredo... better than Morra (sp?) anyway. Still glad Alfonso won though. Would love to have seen the damn fights. grr.

When The Contender series was on here, I TRIED to watch it, but for some reason I think there is something seriously wrong with me, one moment I will be sitting up watching and as soon as a fight comes on, I'm asleep. It's just the fights, not the rest of the stuff. Maybe there's some kind of sound omitted during the fights that I can't handle. Anyway, I watched the start of the rematch, sat up straight as I could so I wouldnt fall asleep, next thing I know, I wake up and the next programme is beginning.

All boxing does this to me, but mostly The Contender. No idea why.
