i think i'm going to come up with a new name for my interests in the occult...i don't want to be a witch anymore!

it's become so commericial and cliche...people aren't content with just "being" a witch anymore...they have to add fancy names and make it seem to be more than just a person in tune with the earth...i guess we all create our own names for the way we practice...but i'm tired of being associated with all the "glamorization" of witcheries...i'm a witch because i chose nature as a power to fufill the emptiness i found in the one god religions!

i've accepted i'm going to hell if christianity has it right, or that how i live in this life decides how i'll be in the next one...but now...

i understand that it's not entirely the fault of creatures designed to be sheep, to find some book and accept it as gospel...but why do people now use that which was originally a freedom from organized religion seek to confine it, box it up with a nice little label...make sure it shines nicely for the general populace...

i suppose some could see it as a good thing, that it's becoming more acceptable to the "known" world...i just don't like the path it's going down. Soon it'll be just another organized religion as fractured and confusing as christianity and all of her sub orders...maybe god is still hiring, if i'm going to be cliche, why not be classically cliche?

whats the point in denying what you are because somethings become a fad. things come and go. most of these kids will grow and then move onto something else. the point is if a person really is comfortable what they are doing they wont be bouncing about throwing it in the faces of everyone else, they will be happy practicing what they practise on their own terms. personnally im tired of all the crooks out there apointing themselves "high wicca sock puller" and "mighty Oak druid of the southwest". they give themselves mad titles and gloryfy in gaining attention off the less experianced peopel out there. i think it's important because of this to stick to your roles and places in life, letting the tide wash over as it always does

i'll always be a witch, it's been so long i've claimed that title, i'm not sure i could describe my interests as anything else, besides, that term goes beyond occult interest with or without switching a letter or two.

i just needed to express my frustration at this sad and growing trend in witchery...and find comfort that i'm not alone with this...opinion of the commercialism of the arts.

i'm tired of argueing with those that have watched one too many charmed episodes and think roleplaying is reality based...so i felt i should bring it to people that have some...neutrality when approaching the occult and all of it's entertainments.
