the same way some people may get confused in the occult forum. the thing is theres been so many books and this's and that's written by sane people, mad people, money grabbers and people who just want to help that theirs a wealth of info for everyone.

youve gotta use common sense, and an understanding of magic and teh occult helps. theres one planet where good things and bad things happen. but when magic comes to people...it's only effected by what the people bring to it, like if you start a new class and youve become really negative, you bring that with you. a runner wont win a race if he's on a big downer about himself, see what i mean

whats the point in denying what you are because somethings become a fad. things come and go. most of these kids will grow and then move onto something else. the point is if a person really is comfortable what they are doing they wont be bouncing about throwing it in the faces of everyone else, they will be happy practicing what they practise on their own terms. personnally im tired of all the crooks out there apointing themselves "high wicca sock puller" and "mighty Oak druid of the southwest". they give themselves mad titles and gloryfy in gaining attention off the less experianced peopel out there. i think it's important because of this to stick to your roles and places in life, letting the tide wash over as it always does

the title wicca only pertaines to a certain number of those who practise witchcraft and in no way embraces all of those people, the same way you get hedge-witchs etc. so stating their connection with the 70's is moot

Yeah, a religion made thousands of years ago that has a vague relevence to today's society makes much more sense. If age makes a religion more or less valid, Christianity is a joke to Jews, which are in turn a joke to Pagans.

in actual fact, tho im not a pagan, it has just as much relevance today as it has had in the past. simply because it stems from working with the earth and understanding it while most other religions and faiths work off of books and prophets.

and if you consider mother teresa either a sarcastic jibe or an insult you need to come up with better one's lol, thats actually a compliment.

Bah. That you concern yourself with the name, rather then the meaning of what you are kind of makes the whole wanting to change the definition a moot point. If you wish to be a "witch" no longer because the word is becoming mainstream, then what you are is merely something to stand out from the crowd. And not really who you are.

A name is nothing more then that: A pointer to what lays behind it. And if that name is more important then what lays behind it, then usually, behind it, lays null.

i just get...flabbergasted by some of the stuff people peddle as being "the ancient art of witchcraft" i guess a better term rather than weak would be washed out by commercialism?

good points. the fact i teach medieval broadsword now, without period clothing, in the year 2004, with steel made via a differnt process, and teh fact that many nutcases are now calling themselves sword masters and teaching people to just hurt each other without any skill or ability....should i not use the title medieval broadsword?

someones always gonna come round the corner and take what you enjoy, turn it into a fad for awhile and then that will pass, no differnt from a storm, you weather it out, not abandon it
