Not to be rude, but I am so sick and tired of everyone complaining about how terrible religion is and how corrupted it is and how it's used to control and whatnot.... these comments are not directed at you, water, so don't take it that way(jus lettin ya know). I think all the religion bashing that goes on in here is just plain stupid. Have I ever told a pagan that he/she is a mindless zombie? Nope. And yet, I have been called a mindless sheep in this board quite a few times. And worse, for that matter. And a lot of people that post in here, it seems like their only desire is to prove someone else wrong about religious beliefs. Now, if a person was going around and flaunting them, then that's one thing, but I have seen quite often people get their beliefs picked apart for no worthy reason. It makes me sick to my stomach. I am genuinely happy with my beliefs. I believe what I want, you believe what you want. Leave it at that.



And I won't EVEN mention how many newbies have started threads in here with no other purpose than bashing G-d

surprisingly i agree with duddy on this.... after all who are we to judge anyones beliefs.... it is not like any of us have actually got the word from what ever god there is and was told "hey you little creation of mine... i am the all powerfull what ever and you will do as i command because i say so... nyah nyah nyah"

i personally believe in all the godz wheter pagan or christian or kirshna or muslamic... the only thing for me is that i do not have any faith in them..... which makes them fancyful characters that have a very huge super ego....

after all the greastest thing that we have and they do not is free will.... they have to live according to the beliefs we created them with.... even the pagan sprits of earth live within the confines of our belifes......

so in the end who really is more powerful....

I don't. People who hate religions are generally no better than religious people who hate pagans or heathens or any other group of people they disagree with. Religious tolerance should extend itself to Atheism, and both ways, I feel.

Of course, everybody has the right to believe in what he/she wants, but then they have to practise their religion at home. When everybody wants to practise his religion on the street, there's chaos. E.g. I don't hate Christendom but the Christians that want to tell me that I don't have to drink, don't have to smoke weed, don't have to bla, bla, bla. I want to do whatever I want, as long as I don't hurt anybody except myself. But then comes a religious bastard and tells me that I'm a sinner. Uargh! I want to crush every single of their bones and ask these cretins where their damn God is!!

I don't hate religions.. I think I stated that. I hate the hypocrytes who use it to suit their own means, and only their means, blaspheming the word of any religious book to suit their own purpose.

I believe every single person has a right to their beliefs, and hopefully will find what they can have faith in. If it's a religion, and that's what they need, then great...

Religion is too dangerous a concept for humanity. The belief in something higher then self grants those directing that belief power. And that power is rarely used wisely. Mankind can do without. Mankind is it's own master.

I refer to all religious conflicts as examples.

I don't hate any religeons, I just don 't believe in any specific one. I think that there are things like a heaven and hell, just there isn't anything that you have to do to get into them. Some people call me an atheist, and I'm ok with that. Its thier opinion, just as long as they respect my belief. Religeon just isn't for me, god isn't for me. I don't really know how to explain it, it can get kinda complicated with things that have happened in the past and that are happening now.

Perhaps the reason people slate the main reilgions so much is an act of rebellion. Since the church stuffs their crap into our society everyday, goes to africa to tell the people there not to use condoms (in the middle of an aids epedemic), is one of the largest land owners in the world, Stolen all the ancient pagan sites of worship and their religion too, perhaps that is why people feel the need to slate people of that religion.

Let's face it - no one will slate me if I worship the Big Willy god (er... in fact they probably would). My point being that the 3 main religions, being the most prominent are gonna have more of the badmouthing. Maybe it's a cry against the system and you (or whomever) is the vent for their frustration.

I don't think they are personally directing it towards you, they are generalising. I think most people are morons (a view i'm trying to loose) but i'm just generalising when I say that. They understand that there are 'normal' religious believers - they are probably directing it towards the bible-bashers.

Personally I think most religions stink and is there for the sole purpose of control. By putting their philosophy into your (i don't literally mean yours) head they put in a prison. One limiting the freedom of thought. One subject to the authority of God and the church.

I think it's ok to hate religions if you particularly dislike them.
But hating someone who believes it is one of the worst thngs ever. I am a christian (non-church) and i despise many religions that i consider false or whatever, but in no way does that mean i hate any person who follows them.
Yes, christian. If you want to hate my religion, then that's up to you. But if you hate ME for it, then that is just pathetic.
