He does have a point though. In modern times the process has been refined and made simple. But that first guy who did an abortion? He had to be pretty twisted.

having a bunch of young, unmarried, teenage mothers raising children on welfare is a much better option...

If they are white its more than likely the babies would be adopted post haste, as evidenced by the years long waiting list to adopt white american babies.

Much as I hate abortion, there are times when it's understandable.
Student nurses can refuse to hand out the abortion pill/take part in procedure while on gynae placement, but sometimes you meet someone who you really feel for. I met a woman who already had two severely congenitally disabled children, and whilst waiting to be sterilised fell pregnant again.
Human life may be sacred and all that, but to me, quality really does count. Being born into poverty and insecurity is a reversable situation, but constant, terminal pain is not.

However, what alarms me most is that many of the women in these clinics are of an age and position to know better. It amazed me how many were doing it for career reasons.
The teenage girls I see having babies plan them, want them, stupidly think it will give their lives meaning.
Adoption really is the way to go. My white Canadian friend waited for years to finally get a baby, and then it was black and brought up from America. She didn't care what colour it was she just wanted a baby, and they really are in short supply.
Now kids who need fostering.....another story.....but still it's worth remaining mindful of the fact that the true worth of a life can only be judged by the being living it.

If people hate abortion on the platform that they want to preserve human life, then they need to take several things into account:

1. Rape
2. Incest
3. Birth defects
4. The health of the mother

It's rare that someone says they're against abortion across the board. No reasonable human being would want to force a woman to have a baby if it could seriously endanger her health. Note that I said reasonable, as I'm well aware of the new abortion laws passed in certain states and the babbling of some of the uber conservatives.

But I think the consequences of completely outlawing abortion should be considered as well. Women have been aborting their babies and using forms of contraception for a very very very long time. Not decades. Not centuries. Longer than that. What's going to happen if they completely ban abortion in the US? Women will start doing what they did in the 50s and 60s, which is going to the back alley doctor, putting themselves at risk for infection, severe hemorrhaging, or serious illness. Either that or they'll just start leaving the country to have it done.

I don't think that any government has the right to tell me that I have to have a baby. No, I don't agree with abortion as a form of birth control. Yes, I believe that women AND men need to be responsible for their actions. But I absolutely will never be on board with our government making me give birth if I don't want to. I hate the whining that I hear about how "if you don't want a baby, use birth control or don't have sex." That's ridiculous. We're all human with basic needs. To tell people "OMG. DON'T HAVE SEX YOU'LL GET PREGNANT OMG OMG OMG OMG." is utter bullshit. And contraception is not fool-proof. Accidents happen. And I'll be damned if I'm going to be punished for something like that.

There are so many other things wrong in our country. Let's fix the health care crisis, social security, the economy.. revamp the welfare system. These are things that need to be addressed NOW. Too much focus on abortion and gay marriage.

Why wouldnt they be adoptable? If the mother didnt want to give it away then she can keep it. Unless youre saying a baby is better off dead than adopted.

And why don't all those people claiming to want to adopt choose the 'non-caucasian' babies instead!

Theres plenty of black and mestizo babies that need adopting so they say, but most people dont want to adopt them because everyone will know that they are adopted and a host of other stupid excuses.

But thats the way the cookie crumbles. Youd think that if half the white douchebags advocating racial equality that wanted a baby but couldnt have one and decided to adopt would adopt along colorblind lines. Of course they dont.

Just like people who vote for bussing inner city kids into suburbs and suburb kids to the city to "diversify" are all for it until its happening in thier school system or they have kids of thier own.

If there are people that support abortion they really dont deserve rights, literally killing people, just think about it.

Quickly I'd like to explain myself in response to this post. There are two different kind of people involved here, the type of person who will die if they give birth to a child, and the perfectly healthy, wealthy person who just destroys her own child without a bit of hesitation because it might become an invonvenience. I understand why the operation could be used to help people, but just as easily it is used to destroy people.

I advocate murder only when it accomplishes a mean (not totally selfish) goal for more than one person. IN the case in point: If you've been raped you have the right to kill whatever you want and I won't stop you. Otherwise, hunker down and take responsibility for your actions.

you numb nuts, abortion isn't murdering people! the embryo isn't considered "human" until it's capable of sustaining life outside the womb...i don't quite know what term that is or how far along it is, but by definition, it isn't human....so get it right
