its ok Dy, most baptists and protestants hate the atholic church for its legitimacey then try to somehow tie thier cult back to the days of christ.. its been proven time and time again the ONLY church with a direct historical link to Jesus himself is the Roman Catholic church which was begun by one of the apostles who followed Christ.

Quite true Billy..... it is strange and quite ironic in a way that people
who do not follow thier god often know much more about it....
Yes the Roman Catholic Church is the only one with ties leading back to the
time of christ...... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. S.O.D. of course, roman catholicism is also responsible for the destruction of an unknown number of lesser christian cults who probably had just as much historical link to Jeebus as the catholics do.

The historical basis of the catholics is the apostolic communion, (that christ's presence is passed down by blessing from Jesus to Peter and the apostles and to bishops and then the bishops coverged in Nicea and created the concept of the Pope, for those who don't know). Well, that's all well and nice, but it doesn't really mean anything. The various groups of christians--coptics, cathars, gnostics, and several others that i just plain old don't know the name of--were who Paul wrote the epistles to well before the catholic church formed. Many of them got stamped out after the Romans went Christian becuase they did not believe in everything contained in the Nicean Creed. Thank You !!!
as said the Catholics tried to kill off all that didnt believe the exact way they wanted them to. Constantine saw an easy way to rule the people...through their very own religion...

I thought the vietnam war would have showed you that.. apparently those cultists didnt have enough stick to remain around. youre entire theory on catholics killing off other christian groups is BS at best. sorry. The catholics havent gotten rid of baptists, or protestants have they? and theyre even less authentically christian with a link to christ himself than most of those cults youre referring to.

The Baptists were and are a "modern" cult of christianity....
christianity being a cult all unto itself fragmented into thousands of smaller cults.... all swearing that they are the one "true "religion....
yet it remains true that Baptists were formed in 1609 and never were they around before than.... you would think a self proclaimed baptist would at the very least be aware of thier own history... Well, no shit. Like Dy said, the Baptists are a new development. And I did say many of them, not all of them, for, as I mentioned before, the coptics are still around. When the catholics became the Roman empire, most christian cults were contained entirely within the empire and those that were commanded to exterminate them had no real motivation not to. When the reformation happened, however, more than a thousand years later, there was motivation to protect the protestants. Afterall, they were preaching that you didn't owe anything to the church... princes liked that. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. im sorry.. but whats your point? how does that disprove that you cant stomp out an idea? the fact that those christian cults died out isnt the fault of the catholic church, its the lack of substance those cults offered that did them in.

I'm not trying to disprove that you can't stomp out an idea. What I'm saying is that you can stomp out people. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
