humanity is extremely special, but all of existence is, and with that rationale one could consider humanity nothing more than a piece of existence, and we are special merely because of it, not because of ourselves.........although, i will also grant that we are by far one of the surpassing factors in existence....... Well. I believe humanity is special, as well, but probably not for the exact reason you do. I believe all of existence is the collective unconscious of godlike beings, forming THE God that monotheism pretends to worship. But of all of thsi Universe, this God, this relaity, this existence, humanity is the only race of beings in which the entire race is capable fo godlike thought.

Godlike thought? By that I mean rapid, several-times-in-one-generation, life-changing things are invented or events take place that affect the entire race and then some. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

very well put, and i will not entirely disagree, but our speciality in thought can subsequently be nothing more than the positive relfection of being human, such as how an animal might have the god-like power of survival far better than ours......everything can be said to have its highest degree of quality surpassing all other things, but when it comes down to it, thought is (as i would say) by far the highest degree of quality any being could possess, and as it is we have it........ The notion of perfection comes from paradox. God is perfect. We exist as part of God. We are nto perfect, thus there must be some part of God to displace all that perfection we don't have. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

We strive for glory or atleast for better things. To strive is to fail automatically. Plus, to ahve a concept of perfection is to be imperfect. Why woudl you need to describe something which is absolutely prevalent in every way. That is the realm of perfection, not here. yes, but at the same time these are examples of perfection.....striving, though failing, is altogether a perfect ordeal; or conception on the otherhand is trickier, i mean A) it could be wrong, why would we need to conceptualize, and C) how can we justly declare perfection?.......but at the same time, i think this, as a whole ordeal, could be perfection......
i think that in their subcategories, things we reason to be not perfect are indeed not perfect, but the overall ordeal of perfection does indeed exist, and being so that it may, even if in another diminsion (yet again possibly another subcategory of the overall ordeal) then ultimately the overall ordeal is indeed perfect......we are a part of this, although imperfection might be conceptualized, but the overall ordeal is perfect, which we are a part of......
you can seperate realms, but you cannot seperate the overall I was masturbating

Just perfection? That is Nirvana, of course, that is nothingness. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Or one with God, yes. Which is achieved through understanding, usually, which is what philosophy is all about, right? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

well......not so much god, or nirvana, or whatever......but basically somewhat yes.....for philosophy is devoted to many subjects, not all of which are used to understand god or nirvana, but rather understand it and its essence...... I was masturbating

I love to think. Probably because I don't like to act. Whatever.
A certain reactionary moderator seems to have a very strict notion of what philosophy is. I'm curious folks, what is philosophy?
Personally, I say one cannot philosophize by oneself. One must give ideas out to another and debate or simply build off eachother to do serious thought. I don't think we go through life alone, as one single person, so why should we develop ideas as one? I mean, we, obviously, can build ideas by ourselves. But what's the point?
Maybe some reactionary moderators think it isn't philosophy unless it raises more useless questions than useless answers.
Who knows? | i believe it just a different way of thinking. everything doesn't have to be so complicated or have meaning to it.

It is indeed thinking. Not necessarily differently, just taking the time to ask "Why?" about things. Shadowborn To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Irrational thought is the natural philosophy (no, nto the natural philosophy that kicked off science), that is, the natural way the gods think. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

yes, irrational thought could even be linked to empiricism......which is the philosophy of seeing things as they are, such as the sun and moon and stars revolving around the earth, the sun being small, etc...... I was masturbating
