It's been alllllllll over the news lately. You've got part of the country fighting to call December 25th "Christmas". You've got another part swearing it needs to be called "Holiday". And then you've got the part that just thinks the whole argument is retarded.

I really don't understand. Words only have as much power as you LET them have. I hate today's super politically correct society where you have to consider everyone's feelings before you blow your nose.

I'm no Jesus humper, but I love me some Christmas. I like being around my family. I like exchanging gifts. I like the decorations and the music and the lights and the happiness. It's a fantastic time of year that makes people feel good. Don't ruin it by getting into a pissing contest over something so STUPID.

I'd like to thank all the dicks that are trying to kill Christmas. Next thing you know, the fat people will declare Santa Clause offensive to the obese. The pagans will be up in arms because we don't recognize the Winter Solstace as a national holiday. Midgets will rebel due to the connotation of the word "elf". PETA will ban the song "Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer" because it promotes animal cruelty.

I absolutely agree. Political correctness has gone crazy, and it's getting worse. If you don't like the word 'Christmas' then don't use it - if you don't agree with Christmas, then don't celebrate it, just don't ruin everyone elses fun!

They should just classify it as a regular non-religious holiday called Christmas because people of all religions get a day off on the 25th. This saves time when you have to deal with people of other religions who want days off for their religious celebrations.

That's a tricky one really, because Christmas IS a religious holiday.

Bah- why can't everyone just call it what they want? I'd be more than happy to celebrate holidays of any religious order if I get a day or more off work.

technically christmas was never a christian holiday, it was just one they decided to claim as their on. same with easter.

I was shopping for one of those small fake Xmas trees with the little woman the other day and right smack on the box it said Winter tree... and under that árbol de invierno... I didnt buy it. It pissed me off.

Holiday? That would be like naming your child "Kid" or renaming the U.S.A. "Country." It doesn't solve anything anyway, because the roots of holiday are "holy day" and if you call it that you're sure to piss off the atheists.

You can't please all of the people all of the time, but just because people have the right under the first ammendment to bitch about the things that piss them off, it doesn't mean anyone is under any sort of obligation to do anything about it. Ever see the South Park episode where they wanted a completely non-denomiational holiday pageant? Everything that meant anything to anyone got taken out, and what are you left with? No, honey. People are whining and crying on all sides: those that support the term "Christmas", those that don't, those that don't care. It's not a matter of JC Penny's not celebrating Christmas. They're still celebrating the holiday. They're still advertising holiday sales. They're just not using the word "Christmas" in advertising because it's been deemed offensive to non-Christians. Please be more informed before you attempt to negate one of my statements.

I have to admit, the guy makes sense SOMETIMES. I like how he goes for the jugular, even though I tend to not agree with anything he says. I just can't stand the man's politics... or rather the way he presents them. He's incapable of debate. You must not watch much in the way of news. This Christmas thing has been going on a for a couple of years now. The Capitol Christmas tree was changed to the Capitol Holiday Tree. Now it's back to The Capitol Christmas Tree. It's a huge deal. I'm shocked you haven't heard anything about it. Billy O'Reilly or not.
