Just because there are other religious celebrations doesn't mean you completely demolish a holiday phrase having already been used. It's traditional to our country which was founded as a Christian nation that did not discriminate other beliefs but moreover remained true to its own.

Me, I'm boycotting Christmas in its entirety, in the religious aspect, in the commercial aspect, in every aspect.

I just like Xmas because I get a buncha days off work, and I can drink, and eat a lot and open presents and give presents to my loved ones.

I would love these things even if it wasnt Xmas. But it is, so I go with it. Christ was born in the Spring anyway.

I think John Stewart said it best on the daily show when he said that there are in fact multiple holidays around this time of year, therefore saying "happy holidays" instead of "merry christmas" is an accurate thing ot be saying.

From what i have seen its not that people say Happy holidays that pisses people off. Its that some people are being forbidden from Saying Merry Christmas and there are company rules and such being drawn up to literally strip Christmas out of it in an attempt to appease certain people who think Christmas is offensive.
