To write something provocative and profound, would be, to say the least, expected. Things nowadays are hectic, most people are still left in the dark when it comes to world events. Some still question their sanity, which automatically makes them sane. But still, some people live their lives day by day blissfully unaware of the grave going-ons. Men still fight to protect their honor, women still seek the independence and equality they rightly deserve. To quote Seether, “It seems like everything’s gray and there’s no color to behold.” Yes, it’s a world of black and white, right and wrong, left and right, good and evil. But even in a world of black and white, there are many shades of gray. And within these shades, there are people, trying to live a colorful life. The grayness is a shroud of ambiguous mixed emotions and people.

In this world of now, teen depression reigns supreme, their depression is King, and the mind altering prescription pills they are forced to swallow, are the Queen and her servants. True, not all pills are bad, if prescribed for an illness or instability. Most doctors prescribe pills to children who don’t need them; all because their parents are hell-bent on thinking their offspring have problems. When it is, in fact, just the opposite. It’s the parents themselves who are damaged.

So many lives are wasted because of malpractice, overdoses, violence, and suicide. Sure, we could blame the media, T.V., rock music, religion, and yes, even the parents and schools! Those are all great scapegoats, but it’s hardly ever the person’s fault. Oh no, never.

Upon writing this, the upcoming war with Iraq is less than 24 hours away if Saddam doesn’t leave his country. I don’t think he will. And what’s worse, is that the Iroquoians who don’t fight will be shot by their own people, killed, assassinated, MURDERED. The threat of biological weapons are real, and they will be used. So many lives will be lost, on both sides; simply put, it’s genocide. War is legal genocide. Switzerland will stay neutral as always. And now France has joined as an ally to the US.

Racial tension is high, and labels are flying left and right. Preppie, Goth, Loser, Punk, Nerd, Geek, Cracker, Chink, Beaner, Nigger, Sand-Nigger. All labels, pure closed-mindedness. America, should take care, of America.


Religion! Now there is a brain washing scheme. They start you off young, when your mind is moldable as fresh clay. They put ideas in your head, hate the non-believers. To quote George Carlin, “I used to be Catholic. That is until I reached the age of reason…”

The war is going on right now...so many lives gone in a flash.
