Nope, because majority doesn't care about minority. Bush won, he's president, get over it. He lead us to war and no one's stopped him. As far as I'm concerned we're at peace because of Bush.

It's only a debate when someone has more than insults to supply it with. I didn't cold heartedly say what you wanted me to so it's no longer a debate. Majority rules and that's the law. I didn't make it, I simply know it and share it.

And she's right. That's how it works. I wasn't exactly happy about things when Clinton was in office, but he was the president, he won by the rules, while NEVER recieving a majority vote of the people. Ross Perot was in both of his elections.

People of of my side of the political spectrum responded by voting in a majority of republicans to the congress. The Perot voters were a big factor there, because when you add up the Perot voters with the Bush Sr./Bob Dole voters, a majority of the country wanted someone other than Bill Clinton to be the president.

Given all that, from the republicans, you never saw anything like this level of juvenile petulance about the results of an election that we've had from the left for the last 5 years. Bush won by the rules in 2000, without a majority, and won re-election in 2004 with a majority vote.

Get over it. You win some, you lose some. It will swing back the other way eventually.

It's not a matter of "getting over it". If I had been old enough to vote in that election, I wouldn't have voted for Gore. Given the climate of the time, the way things were, and Gore's psycho wife.. I would have voted Bush.

It doesn't bother anyone that our votes don't really count? What if the situation had been reversed? I'm sure the Republicans would have had their fare share of words to throw around.

Your votes do count. You are familiar with the system, right? The popular vote in each state determines the electoral vote for each candidate. When that happens at the end of a decade, in a census year, 2000, it is mathematically possible to win the electoral vote without winning the popular vote, because it's been 10 years since the last re-apportionment. It falls into the category of SHIT HAPPENS.

I tghink that the first past the post system used in both the UK and US are utlimately oligarchy as they don't represent the people, as was proven by the fact more people voted against bUsh, but Bush still won, fair and square. Proportional representation, where seats are allocated accordingy to the numbe rof votes you get. that is the most fair way of running this sort of electoral system.

Anyone in favour of the death penalty has to accept that if they or a loved one is found guilty of a crime, then they should die. Afterall the question you must ultimately ask is would I be happy if this happened to me.

Heh. Shit happens? I don't think that phrase should ever be used when it comes to government.

The electoral college is an antiquated system put in place when Americans were farming tards, uneducated, and lacking mass communication of any kind.

And it wasn't my intention to argue the damn 2000 election results. I was trying to point out how ridiculous it is to base right and wrong on what the majority thinks.
