Is it alright for people to say that its "True for me"?

Like some one might say that black people are inferior to whites.. that will be true for that person.. but its not True..

Should we strive for the Truth only? or should we just give up and say.. its true for me.. so nya nya..

That line would get u in an infinite loop. you are argueing with some one and you say well its true for me.. and the other person says.. its true for me.. then you dont go anywhere.. since theres a problem in the logic.. its not right to say.. its true for me.

Is there only one True answer to a question? It may stay unknown for ever but I think there will be only one True answer..

I will have to say no...it is rather egotistical to say there is an absolute truth...especially when concerning personal opinion...there are so many more powerful...influences, beliefs, background, experiences, interpretation, and perception...there are facts, those are undisputable proven statements...the sky is atmosphere, that is a fact, but as for the color...that depends on the conditions...

Let me examine your analogy for a second. I'm sorry if I offend anyone but I have to pursue this argument:

First let me state the analogy in a basic standard philosophical format.

Blacks versus Whites: Who is superior?

Now let's isolate a single attribute:

Physical Strength.

We know that in the united states, on average, Blacks have a slightly higher amount of muscle mass, reflex speed, and so on. This is due to genetics. In Africa strength and reflexes were neccesary to survive. This too, was true with Caucasions, however our European forefathers had long since begun living much more care-free lives with inventions that supported them in day-to-day life. Basically through African life and Recent (in historical terms) slavery in the U.S., African-Americans dropped out of the "survival through brute force" mode of living fairly recently. Especially when compared to Europeans who had dropped out of that race as much as a few thousand years ago. Thus their prosperous lifestyles have affected them negatively in juxtapose to their African brothers.

So, on average, African-Americans are stronger than European-Americans. By how much is immeasurable. But we can assume this statement to be true.

Now let us isolate another attribute:

Wealth.

While it's sad, income tax reports, national censuses, and independant studies have concluded that African-Americans acquire less wealth than European-Americans. While the reasons are unfair and this problem does need to be dealt with, we cannot deny that such is the case.

Now let's take these two attributes and use them to compare African-Americans and European-Americans.

Blacks are stronger than Whites, but Whites earn more money than Blacks.

Well damn, so who's superior? We don't know. White's are superior in economic standing however Blacks are superior in physical standing. And don't be quick to say "that's it, they're equal." Because if you do, you're forgetting something. We must weight the importance of physical strength as compared to economic strength. The problem is, we can't. Noone can tell you which is better, it's all opinion at this point, the facts stop here. So we're essentially left with no straightforward answer. And when you include the thousands, if not millions of other assorted attributes belonging to humans, we find the answer to be even harder to obtain in the method of truth. Thus people evaluate the attributes they're aware of and form their own opinion. They're making an educated guess as to what the truth may be, but as to what it really is, noone will ever know. Which is why there can be no pursuit of an "absolute truth." Because an "absolute truth" in response to almost any answer requires an infinite number of calculations. Even basic laws of physics (as I'm sure some of you are aware) are today being renogotiated as flaws are being found in these statements.

In an ever-changing universe such as ours, an absolute truth of anything is impossible. It'd be easier to freeze a moment in time than to obtain the absolute truth to the whites vs. blacks argument.

In your last paragraph..you answered the question. It would be easier to freeze a moment in time. Well that's what the absolute truth is. The absolute truth is not some over ending thing. There are a lot of them. It is the absolute truth that I went and got my mail today. The problem is when you try to put truth into those matters that are subjective. You can go well blacks and whites have differences, but to rate the differences is absurd.

There are searches for questions which have no answers. It does not make those searches fruitless..because during that search, answers to other more solution friendly problems may come up. It is through the pursuit of some absolute truths that we arrive at the conclusions of ourselves.

Our measly perception doesn't change anything that occurs..however..if you make actions on your perceptions, the consequences of those actions are very much *truth.

i must deviate here by saying this...

in theory, yes... there IS an absolute Truth (note: Truth with a capital T)... but then absolute Truth implies perfection and humanity is far from perfection so we generalize and arrogantly claim that our collective truth is THE Truth... perhaps we do not do this in personal, direct ways but we still do it (such as with collective sentiments such as Jesus was a peaceluvin guy or Medusa was a snake-haired gorgon)...

"truth for me" is perfectly ok as long as you respect that others will be the same

absolute Truth is the ultimate embodiment of Knowledge and Wisdom... it is everything that can ever been known and reasoned... hence Truth = Perfection or Divinity.

now, just because man in his current stage cannot attain Truth on its high level does not mean the it does not exist, just that it is extremely (almost infinitely) unlikely that it will ever be attained

So now we are stuck....
It is impossible or almost impossible for us to find a absolute truth....

But where would you put the that 2+2 equals 4 because that is what it will allways do.

actually there is a math joke (sometimes made into a physics one as well) that goes something like:

2+2 does not equal 5, except for large values of 2...

the joke being that in some of the higher order mathematics thats occasionally you will come up (using multitudes of infinities, imaginary numbers, and whatnot) with 2+2 actually factoring to five...

but 2+2 can also make 22

I don't think truth is perfection or divinity. It can also be ugly.

Just because Truth is acceptable doesn't mean it's perfect. Are you saying that life has a reason to be the way it is, so life is perfect? Maybe if you believe in a god..I don't. Who are you to say what man can & can't understand?

There is a Truth but things that we may never know e.g. how was the world was created. Many people have theories but none is proven Truth, just like people have perceptions. Must we know every little thing? Then again, perhaps it is the small things that hold key (maybe)

If you're talking Absolute Truth as some neverending ultimate wisdom and perfection, that's coming close to saying God. Now..I think absolute truth lies in a frozen moment in time. I wrote this post. That is an absolute truth. The absolute truth..is just what happened at sometime. However human perception is so miniscule, that we can only know certain truths by certain things, it's figuring out the why certain truths happened that we are able to come to speculative other truths, or to speculate what truth will be in the future. Whether or not there is some kind of overTruth, as in the one absolute truth is this..then what is the question to get to that answer?

actually, no... absolute Truth would be if i were to know your were writing it as you were typing (as well as everything else in the unverse)... perhaps Truth is godliness, perhaps... but man will not completely attain it in the near future... Truth is the absolute embodiment of all things in the universe... truth (nocap) is our limited vision of it...
