Pardon me for being so bold. I called it a human soul because there is no other concievable word for it. It's qualities are intensely psychical and cerebral, too much to be animal. The human soul is far, far too celestial to be either animal or human or anything, for that matter. It is a human soul because the only times it has full access to three pillars of mind are when it occupies a human form. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. its funny... whenever i try and start an intelligent thread on ACTUAL philosophy, it gets ignored by just about everyone, but the cheesy, shallow religion threads get thousands of posts (and i know alot of them are mine) because the conversations are THERE for some reason...

hmmmmmm secular, that word just got ma a thinkin'
Humans, having evolved from social animals have a dependance on society, but is this dependance purely emotional?
Is the life of a hermit more satisfying?
Hermits who completly cast off society generally become slightly feral and more animal like.
Taking this into account do you think that man can continue to evolve without Society?

yes, man is always changing... i cannot really judge that is its EVOLVING, but i can guess at yes... man is inherently a social animal and cannot survive without a mothers care, but take the man out of a society when he can survive on his own, you just take a different step in their development...
i think it will be a long time though before man can be born ready...actually, i think its a reverse step in evolution... like in order to gain higher order thinking, man has had to sacrifice some of its grey matter where instinct previously ruled... ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I thought I moved this to philosophy hours ago?
Yeah I read the first page. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

Knowledge and my thoughts? Sounds like a contridiction.:p
What is true and false change like the winds, fact is constantly molding itself and I thought Occams razor was a Sherlock Homes quote. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

Contact kicked ass.
I`m not used to hearing it without "Elementry my dear Watson.." at the front. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

enlightenment and knowledge are entirely different and separate paths...they are intertwined, but not the same...however aside from peole like the metaphorical "man on the mountain" how can any one gain absolute enlightenment?
and how does one gain knowledge?
Do you still think they are the same? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. | |
