So then you think it takes faith to not believe in faries. I do not agree. What do you have to say to my argument that we then all have infinate faith if we go by your rules?

i understand what you're saying in your last post(pg 14) dyeshade i said it on page ten. but that doesnt mean we should throw our ignorance in the air and be all oh well im stupid lets believe in god and he can make up for our stupidity. im sticking with the little reasoning and understanding i have. and that will probably mean i'll live my life understanding very little but its better than believing i understand when i really dont. if god is just and he does exist i dont know why i would go to hell for that and if he does throw me in hell then that would be unjust and i wouldnt wanna be a part of god anyways

I am not trying to offend anyone.... but yes there is infinite faith.... all things take faith... freindships.. relationships... how can you know another is not telling you a bald lie.... unless you have faith.... take for instance my right hand.... I call it my right hand because that is what everyone has said that it is.... now I know it is a hand.... but if I am facing you head on it would be my left hand as you percieve it.... though it is MY right hand.. for all I know it could be the wrong damn hand.....

So we all have infinate faith, whoopty do. I don't agree, but where does your argument go from here? Can you not see that if everyone has infinate amounts of something it really makes the word impotent?

as i said before..... I do not have faith in God..... I do not proscribe to any religious doctrines that have a God in it.... and faith takes belief... both are intrinsically the same..... I did not switch... one cannot talk about faith without adding belief..... the belief in god is faith and the faith in god is a belief

There are key differences in my "faith" and a christians faith. Mine is based on logic. Take a completely clean sheet of paper. Use your reasoning, and science to figure things out. As they are proven, write them down onto the paper. God is not on this piece of paper. Nor is Godzilla. Death is. Heaven is not. This is what people call science, more or less. Until something is proven as existing, it does not exist. If this is faith, then so be it. Faith has traditionaly meant belief despite lack of evidence.

i agree with what dyeshade is saying but i dont believe we need faith in everything. i think there is a confusion between belief and knowlege. the idea that after i die there is nothing is a belief which is that same as faith. the idea that my hair is black is something i know its fact its not belief and faith isnt necessary for me to know that.

how does something that is infinite make it impotent... Faith is a word and nothing will make that word "impotent" me adding infinite to it is merely adding to its meaning not taking it away...... You have a full right to disagree... i will not dispute that.... faith would and still is a potent word regardless of the adjective/s I may add to it

So you are saying that you are a scientist.... did you know that when we first invented compact discs we had no idea how they worked... they just did... it was only recently that we figured out exactly how they worked and were able to explain why...... science works and is based on theory... Einstien wrote the formula E=Mc2.... this is a theoretical formula expostulating the fact that we can take free flowing energy and transform it into mass.... we cannot do that... though we can reverse the formula and extract energy from mass.... scientists are still working to acquire the knowledge to do what Einstien said can be done.....Why? because they have faith that it will work.... FAITH.....

throughout this whole thread im sure we've heard everyone there is and im curious to know what your view is on agnostic beliefs.

Do you know why they had faith in his theories? Because they were theories. Theories aren't just wild guesses. Theories makes sense logicaly and rationaly. If you want to insist I have faith, then I will say I have faith in what is rational and scientific. I don't know where this argument is going or why. If we have faith or not has no influence on god existing.

The agnostic view is simply irrational. Unless you do not take a stance on the existence of the easter bunny, leprechauns, fairies, godzilla, and countless other fantasy figures, then it is illogical to not take a stance on god. You cannot prove bigfoot does not exist. It, like I have said before, is up to the person who makes the claim to justify it. Until bigfoot is justified, we do not believe in him. Until god is justified, it makes no sense to say you do not know if he exists. People are agnostic on this issue because they treat it differently than other issues. Logic and reason do not care what they are working towards, god is in the same category as beetlejuice and the tooth fairy.

I was not exactly arguing the existence of god whether or not he exists is null to me I was arguing faith...... Oh and the blood thing... if you said no... wrong... South America circa 1910....5000+ people including a slew of British gentlemen and lords witnissed blood... fresh... falling for about five minutes from a clear sky.... it just sounded like an interesting thing to throw in.......
