The bag allows people to commit suicide without having to spend large sums of money on life-ending drugs.
"The bags will be free to Exit Australia members, those who make a donation, or to hardship cases not in a position to make a donation," Dr Nitschke said. "People must attend an Exit Australia workshop in capital cities before they can get the bag.
"All aspects of the bag's use will be discussed . . . legal, physiological and technical. It will be explained how to use the bag by yourself."

how is this ethically kosher? sucide is an act that must be faciliated totally by the individual (or in certain cases, such as vegetation, by a proxy)... hand out kits encourages stupidity

It's hard to decide. Who has the right to end a life? Should a person be allowed to kill themselves. It's their life to do with as they choose. What happens if their vegitative or have no motor control.
In the U.K. it's murder for someone to assist them die.

You`d have to be able to feel to feel better.Death wont really help that and besides I`d imagine only in very few cases are suicidal people in postions that cant be aided or that last a lifetime.

not alot of "suicidal" people actually commit suicide. its lookin for attention. and showing that you dont care sometimes brings them back to reality. but on the other hand, if you pull them out of it, they will rely on that and wont have the inner strength themselves to move on alone. people arent always gonna be there for you, you know. Try having a kidney removed and seeing if it makes you stronger.
People should be taught coping skills rather than dependance true, but indifference isnt going to aid people because it does not create a coping skill alone.
