It's not really that complicated.
1) Roll to hit
2) If the number rolled (before adjustments) is in the critical threat range of the weapon, roll again. If the second roll would also hit, then the hit is critical.
4) Roll double the usual weapon damage dice, and double all modifiers.
Sure beats the hell out of THAC0... | that's why lord ivd usually runs the games.

That quote reminds me of what my friend said once in a game. He was playing a wizard and got pissed because the fighters always rushed in before he could get any area-effect spells off. One day he went ahead and cast fireball on a bunch of trolls after the sword-swingers had already waded in. When they protested, he replied "Meh, you can take the damage." That became gospell afterwards.
Speaking of "real" magic, I'm always amused when I see "magickians" talking about Frazer's The Golden Bough as if it were a how-to book on spells and magic. He's the guy that brought to light how all magic is based on two logical fallacies: The Law of Contact (or Contagion) and the Law of Similarity. | Ah, but they key word is "at least". And a furbolg hitting for over 60, even with a crit is pretty absurd. Not that I'm an expert on d20 d&d, I much preferred thac0.

If this isnt possible, then we are in a universe that isnt infinite or has infinite possibility.
Therefore I can easily say ghosts dont exist. | Following the idea that some futuristic superman would even care enough about your meanderings in metaphysics.
Actually that doesn't logically follow. In anyway, but I will only take the time travelling part, because this would cause two divergent realities. for a person to go back in time to make it rain pink bunnies there must first be a time line of origination which doesn't rain pink bunnies. Otherwise they would not need or desire to go back in time because it already rained pink bunnies in the past. The idea that what already happened is what happens doesn't seem to wash very well if you think about it.
Secondly since the possibilty of time travel doesn't have anything to do with ghosts it doesn't follow their either. Quote: |

that's not what this thread is about, it's simply confirming that there are those in the occult world that watch one too many shows, play a few too many games and come to believe that's how spell casting works...but otherwise, yeah...everything comes down to a dice roll. Rols 12: Get cuaght in bedroom with Elven princess. Busy for two turns.
I of course do believe in actual spell casting, which isn't exactly unsupported by known physics an may be completely supported by the unknown physics. I in general don't trust psychics the more psychic and correct the less I trust them. It is much like if a god dropped into my life I'd be very suspicious about what they wanted,.. run if I could too. May Chaos Be Visited Upon You.

Hmm? No, Guts is the name of the guy with the big sword.
On topic though, I like what Hans Holzer; a well respected and highly accredited researcher has to say on the subject of the afterlife. Quote: |
I asked him what we can expect to find waiting for us on the other side. His reply came without hesitation, and very matter-of-fact. “We all pass out of the physical body and we are now on the other side of life. It’s a world just like this one – it has only two differences: there’s no sense of time, and if you’re ill when you die you’re now no longer ill. But other than that, you’ll find houses, trees, gardens, and your relatives, friends, and so on. It looks like a very real world. Maybe a little nicer, but still a normal, real world. And you are just the way you were before. Maybe a little bit younger-looking if you wish, but you’re still in a very real world.

Hell no, I am a virgo. It is just a running thing with my family, unless we die of some sort of health problem(such as cancer or heart disease, or something else to that effect) we live a long long time. I have an uncle, who is my grandmother's uncle, 96, and still going strong, and then there was my great-great-grandfather, who died when he was 105, walked to and from town every day until the last week, my grandmother is 75, she still works two jobs and is older than most of the people at the nursing home she works at Farewell Little Brother, You Shall be Missed 1989-2007 I'm gonna kick you ass for this though

my grandmother was of that attitude too, i suppose that's where my stubborness come from, it helps me accept growing older, having such great role models that lived life, and spred their stories of gained wisdom along the way...
i'm at that age where i think about such things, hair dye doesn't completely cover grey hair.
that would be the counter balance in my family, most were gray at forty. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I have crow's feet (I guess).......more like laugh lines. I just wish growing old didn't mean falling apart! To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
