What is it that poeple do not understand about war?

Is it the fact that as a society we do not have an appreciation for the liberties we are granted?

What is wrong with you America!!!! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE ROSES.

We were founded upon a higher standard than any other country in history. I am not just talking about the moral but rather the ideological...the pursuit of the American Dream. It is not ignorance on our part, it is the wish for people to have those same liberties that our ancestors fought and died for. Are we so blinded that we are going to allow a small group of individuals ruin the morale of the country.
In my town, one of these idiots was yelling at the cops because he could not see. He could not see because the group of people he was with started a ruckus with the police and they sprayed pepper spray...DUH RETARD.
Are we going to follow a bunch of granola eating hippies with no respect for anything upon which this country was founded? What is so hard for these people to understand? We are not living in a draft era where you have no choice but to fight. All of our men and women in the Armed Forces have volunteered and I give all of them my deepest sentiments. I will not wish them home soon, but rather may all objectives be completed regardless of the cost. This country was founded on the blood of people such as yourselves. Any who spit on this great nation can get out. THANK YOU THANK YOU 1000 times.

I watched Midnight Express the other night and WOW you are so right. We come to expect such freedoms as fair justice, entrapreneurism, and freedom of speech- to name just a few. Most other countries do not grant these simple liberties as rights, and I hope that being in a state of war will remind us just how much we have worth fighting for, just how much we have that many others do not. But we also must realize that terrorism and war is an ongoing thing in most of the world, we all seem so surprised this is happening to us, we shouldn't be.

OK. About the word. Socially inept is not what I meant, I wrote what I meant. All of these people that do not understand why we go to war must be SOCIALISTS. Idealists with no base in reality. Since I am definitely not a socialist, I am SOCAILISTICALLY INEPT. Get it.

Sorry to inform you, but a utopian society is not physically possible. Ever since Biblical Times, if you believe it, there has been war. Jealous rage, fits of insanity, even planned warfare. You cannot pose a question that has no basis in reality. Ifg you want to get philosphical about things, LIFE IS A WAR. WE are constantly in a struggle with ourselves and those around us (i.e. keeping up with the Jones'). Don't speak hypothetical, speak what is.

I think you guys are over analyzing the name of the thread when what you should be doing is voicing your opinions on what he has posted. i dont see why the word is such a huge conversation piece.

i agree with mr. ptown. people are so worried about people being killed over there, but what they dont understand is that the people we've sent over made the choice.if we do not get saddam out of there people will be dying everyday. he's is a ruthless brutal tyrant and murderer. i just dont understand why people bitch so much about it when it's bound to happen. if these people have such a problem with liberties that we take all too often take for granted maybe they should live somewhere else... like say the middle east. and these women are so against the war and yet if they lived over there they wouldnt even be able to show thier facesin public. be happy for what we americans have! and hope that one day the rest may be so lucky
