I'm suprised no one is really talking about this. What's happening with this? How many shootings are we up to? Anyone have any thoughts as to motivation, or is he/she/it just hitting random things? Probably so. Is it terror motivated (not in the terrorist sense...or at least not the type of terrorist that we think of automatically)? Do you think they'll get him? If so, how? An error on his part? Evidence?

As to getting caught, well he'll slip up eventually but until then how do you track him?

Look at all Bullet casings and find the manufacturer, find the shipping log. look at who got said consignment and then eithe ruse mail-order records or interview every customer of an outlet store.

Ballistic scoring will allow them to find the rifle.

he IS a serial killer, except there is no ritual in his method for choosing victims. I think he wont get caught but will turn himself in somehow.. he left a "death" terot card the other day in the bushes he sniped that 13 year old from. He wants glory, but even now i dont think hes going to stop he even wrote "im god" on the card, he thinks hes got power now and i dont think hes going to give that up... kinda like in Red Dragon.

if he is ex-military he would have access to a rifle anyways.... and if he wanted so badly to snipe people he would have gotten one on the black market and done what he has done anyways and the police still would not be able to track it.... hmmm... this is really the only issue i have ever disagreed with you on neon..... the availability of firearms.... because no matter what the laws they will always be available to those who want them....

in theory this is not as simple as it seems...like dyshade said he could have purchased it from the black market, most of those weapons even have serial numbers removed...and high powered hunting rifles are easy to get...i can walk into any pawn shop, gun show or sporting store here and with my id purchase a weapon of my choice..everything to little .22s to guns big enough to take down a bear...there are also people who can make their own weapons...there are fifty states and with the internet...i don't think focusing on the gun is the way to catch him...too many variables...

i think he left the card because he doesnt like the name hes been given "the sniper" how boring, he probably wants something like the terot card killer or something. Even Jack the Ripper created his own name, if you believe in the letters Scotland Yard got from him amoung the millions of hoax letters. It seems more of a glory case as was the ripper killers who sent letters and leave clues for the cops usually aside from thier psychosis and narcissism also want to get caught eventually so they can revel in the glory and infamy they create for themselves.

Neon was bashing the US a bit for having weapons not outlawed like the silly british, and yet he never seems tog et that criminals wil ALWAYS have guns through illegal means, most killers dont get thier guns from Wal Mart or gun shops they get them second hand or stolen anyways, outlawing guns only arms criminals and unarms respectable citizens.
