Because you haven't said how or why. 'If we take in our hand any volume; of divinity or school metaphysics, for instance; let us ask, Does it contain any abstract reasoning concerning quantity or number? No. Does it contain any experimental reasoning, concerning matterof fact and existence? No. Commit it then to the flames: for it contains nothing but sophistry and illusion.'

and how should i? all i said is that i suspect that the metaphysical and the physical coexist at some point time, and it is at this point that "time" comes into play, as time is a more of a reflection on the physical since the physical has movement (aging, dying, emotions, etc)..........when the physical goes *poof*, doesn't mean the metaphysical does either......so, you have the metaphysical just chillin for what would be the physical equivalent of X-years until the physical goes *poof* again and suddenly they both co-exist.........

Time started along with the universe - the physical manifestation is its "spinning" - though I can't understand humans aging in terms of years if our cells don't appear to spin... And we age literally every second. Maybe we have "sub-cells" (like subatomic particles that make up atoms) spinning to keep us in existence... This would resonate with the cyclic theory of everything that can spin or cycle, will. We measure the years in terms of passing seasons and change of Earth's rotation in relation to the sun... Oooh, my head is spinning now...Feels like a time travel paradox... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Oooh, my head is spinning now...Feels like a time travel paradox... | i won't disagree that everything isn't in constant motion, but to say advance only occurs when things "spin" doesn't sound quite right. A cycle does not always equate to "spin" or a circular path. In the big bang/big crunch theory, the whole cycle would resemble more an accordion expanding and contracting.
what happens when we spin?, we get dizzy. and then we puke.
and in moebius theory , an infinite line, although resembling two circles in a twisted figure-8 pattern, is actually just that, an infinite line. no spinning happening there.
and we don't really age in a degenerative sense. this falls under the law of conservation of matter (matter can neither be created nor destroyed)."we" age, as in our current organization of matter that makes us seem self aware, but our building blocks at the base level simply just change form when the glue to hold them together loses its interest. remember, at some point, you were most likely part of a star. and, its likely you will be again.
the spinning is a result of pieces of solid matter with gravity all pushing and pulling at each other out in space. but as the universe expands, these gravitational forces change, constantly changing orbits and influences. unfortunately, its theorized that the force that propels the universe outward will eventually become too weak to continue pushing and gravity will take over. at that point the universe would begin shrinking until it collpases into a unmeasurably small point in space. all the mass and energy compacted into such a small area then would explode outward and start all over again. thats the theory anyway.

But I have heard that the expansion of the universe is, in fact, speeding up!!! Not, as predicted, slowing. Is this anti gravity??? or another force, as yet, unspecified? Are we not, in fact, living longer? I know you will say, 'But how does that equate, you moron?" But just cut out the perceived 'middle-man', 'US', and the facts are ......'time is speeding up and we are living longer' Does that therefore mean we are travelling faster through time? i have heard the same... the problem is our frame of reference. these calculations can be (and often are) wrong.
but, if we are spinning off into oblivion, it will be long after our sun and many Secondus/Tertius/Quartus Earths later... hell, probably (definitely) after the extinction of the human race and perhaps all sentient life... ___Nick_the_Rogue___ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. If expansion is speeding up, then essentially we will he heading into isolation, presuming we're still around. Have you not learned from the corpses of your bretheren?

as far as the expansion speeding up, some theories suggest that this is due to the gravity fields generated by bodies losing "grip" as those bodies are pushed further apart, reducing the amount of resistance created between two bodies at a compounding rate.. however, these are the same theories suggesting the expansion will still eventually run out of gas.
and i like these theories. they make me feel all warm and fuzzy. but, i'm still the idiot who would ask the scientist "ok, dick-brain, what's outside the accordion?"
then he would kick out my teeth.
