Not really - it falls under both JP, reincarnation can be believed, without believing in a religion. For the soul itself is not religious, it just IS.

Both Religion and Philosophy contain beliefs though, and are closely entertwined....

1. No proof that there is, indeed, a spiritual object within our very bodies, and so don't use soul in any form of a debate without first proving it's existence.

2. Religion is a system of beliefs which are followed by people as a way of life. Philosophy is just a bunch of people sitting around wasting time.

Oh, have you guys ever thought that there just might be the basic way that life occurs going on? As in, reality repeats itself, there are common occurances always happening.

This, in turn, would mean some people might appear exactly alike to another, just because of the way reality works, and so might be at the root of reincarnation.

i am not completly sure of my views on this topic

if reincarnation is possible i think that humans would only come back as humans and ect. i dont think that you could come back as a rock in the next life or anything like that.

Energy, and matter, are just energy and matter, it matters not to the energy what it is, so long as it is, since, of course, most energy is not sentient. this means it could be transformed into something other then the original version of itself.

philosophy cannot be so closely related to religion as it can science.........if not for philosophy, of today's sciences would not exist......

reincarnation on a molecular level, maybe.....on a soul level, i think not......

Well, I don't believe specifically in reincarnation, neither do I believe a soul just expires when it's host dies. It's my thought that when a soul is loosed from it's bonds, it either remains behind on a world to do it's best to influence an entity or entities by it's own volition, or a decree from a higher authority(I have arguments for both, but at the present time I cannot place my belief firmly in one or the other) or it passes on to whereever it is that souls who have nothing more to contribute to a world go.

Again people are talking about souls like they're actually existing things, which they are not.

Yes there is a soul like thing, which, roughly, can be found in the brain area, but there is no actual soul.

Good god I'm not that good at the medical mumbo jumbo to know the right terms and all of that shit, but just talk to a doc and he'll/she'll let you know that there is, in fact, a series of various fields running throughout and about the human body, all of which are scientifically proven, and, of course, that they could have a direct impact upon the area wherein a person travels.

But again, I don't know the mumbo jumbo... I'm an average idjit :p

not even a doctor will honestly tell you that souls cannot exist JP. Not medically... if they do... they are outside of their realm...

The mind? as in thought itself?

Thought itself is the electrical currents coursing throughout our brains, as well as all of the information within the bio-organic (or whatever the right term would be) computer being accessed and used and whatnot.

What you are referring to JP is the mind, not the soul. A persons mental functions reside in the brain area. If you lobotomize a person, they will have diminished mental capacities no matter what the nature of their soul, because you are damaging the physical housing of said capacity. I can't prove to you a soul exists like I can prove if I drop a rock it will fall to the ground, I daresay anyone could, but if you open your mind to perceptions you may be surprised at the arguments you can come up with to support it's existence. For myself, having had the misfortune to be looking into the eyes of a person as they died, I can say without hesitation that the event was much more than a chemical engine shutting down. You'll have to see for yourself something that convinces you a soul exists, but don't take lightly what other people have to say about them, because unless you have experienced what they have, you cannot truly judge their opinion about it.

Odd, since I've seen someone die while throwing up blood right before me and all I saw was their body quitting on them.
