http://www.gregpalast.com/recipe-for-a-cooked-election A nasty little secret of American democracy is that, in every national election, ballots cast are simply thrown in the garbage. Most are called “spoiled,” supposedly unreadable, damaged, invalid. They just don’t get counted. This “spoilage” Proportion of Ballots That were not Counted has occurred for decades, but it reached unprecedented heights in the last two presidential elections. In the 2004 election, for example, more than three million ballots were never counted. FOR SERIOUS OFF TOPIC GO HERE To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I may not be a Dem, but I most certainly am not deluded into thinking that Bush is an intelligent man nor that he has done any good on office. His will go down as the worst presidency in history and as more and more stuff comes to light he may even be cast as a very vile man. He isnt sharp thats for sure, but he surrounds himself with sharp people which mitigates that.
His intellect will not be remembered, his actions will though and so will history.
He did a lot in his presidency what with fighting terrorism and as that becomes a bigger problem in the future he will be looked at favoribly for fighting it.
He wont turn into what Clinton is, Clinton went out with good ratings, but no accomplishments. And he left a lot of problems. This is why his legacy is unraveling and he will be known as the loser who got impeached for a blowjob and who was busy chasing tail for 8 years.
Bush will fare much better, even if he is unpopular right now.
Lincoln was INCREDIBLY unpopular while he was president, he fucking used military against civilians and I am not talking about the war. Yet he went down as one of the greatest men ever.

Lincoln had very unpopular ideas but they were good ideas. Bush does not even have one idea. Most of the people who surround him are there for thier own gain and are using him for that gain, and succeeding quite well. Romney is a putz. Our Military has been sorely abused and we are barely starting to feel that abuse right now as they attempt to throw more soldiers lives at a problem which will never go away.
We cannot fight a conventional war against terrorism. Terrorism is by its very nature unconventional and very irrational; ie-- suicide bombers and death worship. We need smaller strike forces made up of elite soldiers who go wherever they need to go based on GOOD INTEL and kill those who would perpetuate this terrorism. Iraq has just become a killing ground and shall remain so for as long as we keep sending men and women there. The killing will not stop, it has not stopped there for thousands of years it is arrogant to think that we can stop it. And it certainly will not protect us here by drawing thier attentions away. They will still fashion plans to hurt us here. We just have to be better than them and stop them every time. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Your Bush hatred aside, lets be realistic, he has actually done shit in his 2 terms. And I am telling you the whys and hows are going to be forgotten eventually and all that will remain will be the timeline of what happend and he will be remembered fondly.
We will have to wait and see I guess.

who cares who gets to be president? democrats and republicans differ like swift's lilliputians, arguing over which end of the egg to break. christ, they're all WASPs, middle-uppper or upper class, middle aged and they all have agendas and they all get shit done. christ, presidents don't do any real work anyway. they just get advice and have the last call. bush isn't bad, clinton wasn't bad, hell, jackson wasn't bad. deal with it... We will have to wait and see I guess. | I do not hate Bush. He has done a shitty job. It is like getting a cold hamburger at McDonalds, someone was not doing thier job and you get to bitch about it To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I'm shocked. Billy's actually the one who doesn't sound like a lunatic.

As for the ivory tower elite most seem to be die hard republicans trying to protect their $ from social programs. One of the things that separates us from animals is that we take care of our sick and wounded it’s part of the very foundation of civilization. The republicans idea of smaller government, means turning over things like power over to corporate control so some one in an Ivory Tower can exploit people and make more $, and I don’t see how spying on your own citizens counts as smaller government or telling people what they can and can’t do in their own homes. I hope this doesn’t offend you, unless your a plain belly sneetch.

After 911 most of the world supported us, there were even demonstrations in Iran denouncing the attack, now if things don’t get better we could end up going to war with them. Perhaps the best chance for world peace was destroyed by Bush and Karl Rove’s plan for a new American century. I hope this doesn’t offend you, unless your a plain belly sneetch.

And who says things have to be equal? I dont recall that being part of the constitution, if i work my ass off and go to college and break my balls to build a corporation into a powerhouse, why shouldnt i be more imporatant than some kid who is going to work for a summer vacation?
