Alright, wasnt sure whether to put this in the religon or philosophy, but it might fit better here. *shugs* i dont know. well anyways, for no reason at all this thought just popped into my head, would like to hear others opinions or whatever. alright not quite sure how to word this but i'll try:
say there isnt a heaven or a hell, say that maybe those places dont exist unless you make a certain "promise". like the pagans, maybe they go to where they think they should go after they die if they follow "their" religon. the people who believe in nothing, go nowhere, just blackness, or a very long dream. only they dont know they are dreaming.
anyone understand what im saying???? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

yeah, you make your own reality. why not. i guess if it's like the matrix, then your theory is true to it only we don't "wake up" when we die, we just continue living the farce. have you seen my marbles?

dreaming forever doesn't sound bad? what if you have a nightmare forever? that would suck......i had a theory similar to yours azilia: if we do, per se dream, is not a good dream like heaven and a nightmare like hell? and depending on how one lived their life, maybe their final dream corresponds.........of course, one has to worry about that whole deteorating thingy

There's nothing after death. That makes the life completely useless. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

ah ah ah.........you cannot prove there's nothing......in fact, evidence still suggests one does become something both in a physical and metaphysical sense.....

Hmmm...
I see no point in this kind of discussion. You'll use your arguments, I'll use mine, and the truth is as usual "out there". Let's talk about something else To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

It has been proven that during periods of unconciousness people "see" things, which they call heaven(or Hell).
In my opinion it is nothing more than the mind conjuring up a basic "dream" wherein the being sees what they inherently wish to see(or would expect to see).
Also, I would like it if we could perhaps do a study of the human mind after the person has died, to see if any traces of electricity or energy remain behind for even a remotely short period of time.
But anywho (\ /)

All I know is that if life after death is like anything that the major religions depict it as...then the universe is a pretty stupid place.
I really believe that whatever reality there is after death, it's far beyond our comprehension. This has probably been said before but it's pretty silly to think that this planet has everything mapped out concerning this issue.
Personally, I would prefer endless reincarnation. I really have no desire to spend eternity running on grassy fields and singing praises to some God.

The thing about near death experiences and other such things where people experience floating, light, a feeling of well being, is that they didn't die. They're starved of oxygen and their experiences are not much different in my eyes to that when people meditate or astrally project. Some monks get to the state - after much practice when they are barely breathing and their body slows down so much that they experience very similar to such "near death experiences".
So in my eyes near death experiences don't suggest an afterlife, just what happens when you're oxygen starved/meditating/call it what you will. have you seen my marbles?

The only comfort I have if they do exist, is that in some way I wouldn't be alone, and I would be suffering with someone similiar to me in one projection or another. Since most religions try to be focused on the individual it can go both ways I suppose. Even if some questions can be answered more important ones seem to appear.
