A friend of mine made me think of this so...
A Shield or protection charm.... even a blessed charm... all work as good shields, against energy not in time with them, but in considering using one... it must be taken into account.. energy is impersonal...so you are creating a filter or wall between you and the world.
And as such it will filter you out into the world, and the world to you.. Or if a wall it keeps the negativity of the world outside, but keeps you own personal negativity faced at you... Just so you know.

i was reading a book that discussed a way to cleanse your house(i'd rather not say the title due to personal opinions, but it was good)...starting at one side, walking through banging pans and then at the point you've reached the end open the window, if you don't have a window at the end to make the visualization of one...it than stressed the point of making sure you seal it properly so that other "energies" could not come through and undo what you've just done...it then preceded to discuss how to properly seal windows and doors that may be prone to accepting in unwanted energies...i guess my point here is that your space needs as much psychic shielding, and cleansing as does a person's spirit...

I stopped using shields a long time ago.

i don't know, like i said it was in a book...i do tend to leave doors and windows open...do a ritual sweeping through the house at the changing of the season, sprinkle salt and rose water about the corners and entries and call it good

Well like the book and I (about the pentacle) said ... anything shielded needs to be cleansed regulary.
It is too much unnessecary effort for me. But I will do consecrate my section when I first move in, and call it good.. I like it.

As I have said in another thread, I have 3 unknown energies that seem to be protecting me

this is all very interesting and would like to get more information on it like a "worlock for dummies" book. I have friends who claim to be wiccans but from what I hear from conversations it is a lot of BS. There are things that I do belive exist and seen actual use of them especially "lay" lines.
