Well I don't think he is personally, but this made it up on a highway billboard near Medford, Oregon courtesy of the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

I realize that the Mormons are the fastest growing religion in the United States today, but I didn't think they had quite enough clout to go throwing statements like this up on billboards in the face of possible repercussions.

Thats because the Mormons promote the idea of very large families..... they not only rake in converts but also have a whole bunch born everyday... and Rome is so far away from SLC...

Well, so far I haven't heard any updates on this story from local news broadcasts. I guess I'll have to look around on the net and see if I can find anything further.

I always wanted to be Pope just to be able to wear the big hat.
Perhaps I should start my own religion and indicate the hierarchy of the clergy by the size of the hat. (Mine will be the largest of course.) I could even have a satellite communications system built into the hat so I could keep track of my followers and detractors throughout the world, with a little guy hidden in the hat keeping track of and recording transmissions...now that would be great.

Perhaps I can claim I found some golden tablets on a trip to the South, which were actually missing holy books of the Bible brought to this country by slaves who had them concealed in bodily cavities. These black slaves were from an African Tribe that was actually the lost 14th tribe of Israel...yeah...I can write out a book supposedly based on the tablets, then say the originals were taken by angels back to Heaven...this sounds like the beginnings of a great plan...now all I need is a doctrine.

Slaughter is a lot of work, though, and eventually pointless with the exception of population control. How about a holy war against the stupid? Anyone standing in the direction of the arrow on those "I'm with Stupid --->" shirts can be put to the torch...

I'll agree that people have the right to be stupid only if they agree to be sterilyzed first. According to what I've gathered from the Darwin Awards, they aren't removing themselves from the gene pool nearly quickly enough. And there are too many runner-ups.

If they go unchecked, pretty soon, they're going to take over the world.

Its one thing to be born with limited mental capacity. Its quite another to turn off your brain and accept ignorance as the norm.
I don't find that acceptable. Sure its their "right" just as its my right to run roughshod over them when they least expect it. There are worse things to attempt to stamp out in the world...
