I wonder if Bush will try Reagan's cowboy sheriff tactics that he used back during the air traffic controllers strike? "Go back to work or you're all fired." Shadowborn To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Bush, not such a good idea to try an old stunt like that.

if they were expecting it, why didn't they have some sort of back up plan for temporary replacements or in case they do decide to fire them? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Allegedly the MTA workers starting salary is around 50K to 60K I am not sure how accurate that is though. If its true I despise them even more. How many of MY members that I represent did they put out of work this week? fucking bastards.

I guess the companies will give in if it is a reasonable request. Earlier this year our bus drivers went on strike and the general public were fully supporting them. Newspapers and TV programmes interviewed people on the street, and while they did acknowledge it was an inconvenience, they did support them.
That's because they DIDN'T get paid enough and since they were starting work before buses started in the morning, they couldn't catch the bus to work and some of them not owning cars had to take taxis.
They deal with abuse, are spat on etc and the school kids - I would never want to drive a bus for school kids - I saw how we treated our bus drivers... have you seen my marbles?

I view it as completely selfish. Christmas is in a few days. A ciy like New York shuts down without public transport during any time of year. Why now? In Memory of the Busby Babes :

this article makes some good points, but why can't they start training replacements now? If neither side aren't going to budge, what difference does it make if it's already not running? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I'd like to see all unions everywhere busted with extreme prejudice everytime they give an opportunity. Also, it should be illegal for government employees to unionize, and I'm including schoolteachers with all the worthless beurocrats.
Unions exist for one purpose, to demand more money for less work while protecting the lazy bastards who should be fired.

Then you can lose another election and cry some more. | First of all, this thread has nothing to do with Bush, so why go off on a simple joke? Second, don't lump me in with a whole group of vague folk just because you didn't like my joke. Third, to imply that I want us to fail in Iraq even if I didn't agree with the decision to go in the first place is insulting both to my integrity and my intelligence. Finally, I'd gladly take anyone the Republican party would like to replace Bush with compared to the weak swill I see in the Democrat's pot at the moment (except Cheney.)
Now that that's over with...how about that transit strike? Oh, yeah, it's over. Nevermind. Shadowborn To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
