The sunset is beautiful tonight. The high level clouds take on the color of gold, slowly fading to orange. The big, puffy clouds hold the shades of purple, tinged with red. And, oh, the sky... I have never witnessed such a remarkable, almost electric blue sky. Even as it fades away from the sun, the blue hue is so bright it almost hurts to look at it.
And I watch all this, thankful for the fact that I do live in a free country. A place where I'm able to sit on my balcony, smoke a joint, and enjoy the sunset.
The world is changing. And no one knows really the full scope of what is or isn't going to happen. The very beliefs we take for granted have been attacked in a blatant display of disregard for human life. This means war.
But who are we going to war against? A fanatical religious group that have been at war with others for centuries. How do you combat a style of fighting that has been honed for millenia? Will brute force be enough? Or will it require extreme cunning in addition? Sure, there's already strategy involved in warfare, but anyone can win a game of "Risk!"
And what of the US? We've sat back for years, even while the very people we were supporting were perpetrating terroristic acts on your citizens, and done nothing against this kind of war. Did we have a plan for something this large-scale? Have we known for years this attack was coming? And if it is all planned, is the plan being followed correctly?
Most countries of the world have been sympathetic with the US's troubles. Some have even pledged support in the coming war. But one country I have to give mad props to is England. They have pretty much stepped up beside the US and said, "Fuck this. No more... or else." A diverse cultural background, far more technologically advanced than most of the countries in the world, and apparantly home to people that have some of the warmest and open hearts. Even though England has suffered horribly from the foot-and-mouth thing, they're still ready to throw their weight in with ours. And that I commend.
And as for bin Laden... Really, now, what do you expect from a guy with a 500 million dollar inheritance? Spoiled little rich boy who wants to rule the world... Hitler made a much better nemesis simply for the fact that he didn't really come from a wealthy family. He rose by sheer will. Of which bin Laden is empty (except the will of his fanatical visions in his mind). Bin Laden will fall. His own troops have already begun to turn against him.
But the war on terrorism will take much longer. It may, in fact, wage forever. Perhaps we will fall into the same kind of conflict going on in Israel and Palestine; constant guerilla warfare. One side taking casualties, then the other...
But who knows? These are just my thoughts... The thoughts of a so-called "giggling crackhead."

I very much enjoyed reading that . . . you have some excellent points . . . one problem, though:

We may live in a free country, but marijuana has not been legalised.

Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.
