I'm on a jury at the moment for a case that couldn't be analysed by a computer, but I tell you what, a computer wouldn't come up with some of the crap conclusions the jury is coming up with. The whole court process is incredibly time consuming and costly but I don't see you, Dark, coming up with any alternatives no matter how obscure. Brainstorming isn't your thang, obviously.
Anyway, getting back on topic, to me, there is something inherently wrong with killing a killer. It's a pretty base instinct though.

The thing is that computers only have a sense of justice that is programmed into them... Ultimately, it is the group of people who enetered the terms of judgement into the system who would be dictating the sentences of accused felons while it is in effect. Basically, we're allowing a bunch of people who may not be ideal to preside over, and continually judge all trials while the system is in place.

It wasn't meant to be a barb babe just an observation. I like to brainstorm and pushing the boundaries is the only way I've learnt to come up with ideas no one has thought of. I never infer that they are the 'be all and end all' or even that they are viable, just that there are alternatives that can be explored and built on. So fuckin back off.

Yep, I see your point. Okay what about a programme that after entering the information of the case can give a viability reading on whether the case should even front a jury. Lets face it, many cases should not even make it to that process. Anyway like I said earlier I can forever keep coming up with obscure alternatives (just part of my make up) but I don't want to get off the topic. Maybe we could kill murderers in nice ways, death by chocolate.

There is no justice..only actions..wouldn't you rather have a murderer taken out of lifes already complicated equation than left around to increase the likelyhood of your own painful and unexpected death...overmoralisation is as bad as fascism when it comes to removing peoples rights to live freely.

I never professed to be a comp. tech., Quizella was my inspiration, that and spread sheets. If the law was categorised by numbers (which it is) why couldn't a formula be devised to 'weigh' the facts before it came to court? Like I said it was an idea not something I thought I needed to write the programme for to prove viability, for fucks sake.

From a techy viewpoint I can say that all computers are created by humans so their values would end up being pretty much the same but with no ability to think outside the box or look deeper into the facts..You'd just make justice faster and..heartless.
