I was wondering if anyone else was going to find out about this.

And, as Den said before, it COULD be a memorial. Why wouldn't that possibility exist? Yes, they do not like us(usually), but they also are fellow Human beings. This means that they'll sometimes get all "ooo nooo sob sob".
