Lions Kill Villager in West Ethiopian Rampage

ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) - A pride of lions disturbed by the destruction of their forest sanctuaries in western Ethiopia killed one villager and devoured 70 domestic animals last week, Walta Information Center (WIC) reported on Tuesday.
The agency said the lions make repeated forays against human settlements in the western Assosa region.
"The pride of lions disturbed by the destruction of their sanctuaries continued attacking residential areas in broad daylight and sometimes in the evenings, killing domestic animals and forcing residents to flee for their dear lives," it said.
Roman Alemayehu, a regional wildlife protection officer accused farmers in the region of destroying forest land and illegal hunting which she said had disturbed the lions.
"After the destruction of forest land in the area, the lions were forced to come out from their danes in search of food."

Why don't the villagers just kill the lions? Seems like the preferable alternative.

No, it wasn't Sir. You'll notice it's not "Rampaging lions raid poacher camp, 1 Poacher killed, many injured.". When you barely have enough food to get by, no electricity, and have to walk five miles every day just to get enough water to bathe and drink, let's see how much you like insane fucking lions busting into your village and eating your fucking leg because some dumbass poachers from the city wanted to make some cheap bucks.

Funny, I don't remember making a judgment as to what to do about the problem, and I am being attacked as if I had; I responded to Billy's "us" as if I am being attacked, and I'm not. If you mean the human race as "us" then "we" caused the problem also. Quote:
