We seem to forget our frail human forms and confidently wrap our lives around a number of other frail human machines. Our lives consist of constant tiny social battles and escapades we keep our mortality in a little box only to be opened in 80 years. we forget that something in this magnatude can happen due to our military strength and the good will of others.

we boiled our lives down to knowing how moraly wrong killing another indivsual is, the social consenses seems to confirm this. whenever such atrocities occur there is an outcry of humanity. take colombine for instance. the only ones who condoned this were distroght other teens who have wanted to do so for so long. it seems demographics determin the potential for such dastardly events.

though i have not been directly affected by the screenplay of this morning, i want my personal revenge. just on a person to person social party type basis, one person doing this to so many is compleatly rediculous. if there god is the will of these people then i question why this god has not been stamped out due to its graphic and provoking nature.

do these people actually believe that thier god dictates what i have to believe? on the grounds of my own personal safty, why do i have to conform to your god or face iminate death. im not muslum, nor do i ever plan on it but i wouldnt take any unprovoked action to go our and hunt down a muslum and boot him to death.

so, for this one instance, ill use the old testament for righteiousness and shoot up a mosque. shit, while im at it, ill kill every muslum i see. they use random acts of violence aganst innocent bystandards, my god says its time to enact revenge.

america is culturally diverse. yes, i know that there are other religions besides christianity (just to let you know, catholism and protestant are both subsidiaries of christianity) but it seems that such fundamentalists are an imidiant threat to american safty. wouldn't you agree?

Yes I do agree with you that we are culturally diverse. I agree also that it is one of the greatest things about this nation. I am proud to hear though that it seems you are willing to protect our nation but we must also be retional about such actions as to what further actions will follow from the outside world.
This thought of a difference of view is by no mean foreign to me. do not feel by any rate that you are verbally under attack by me.

Condemning Muslims worldwide would be as stupid as condemning all current-day Christians for the atrocities committed during the Crusades. There are many branches of the Muslim religion. They have fanatic branches, but that does not mean that all of them are that way.

There are Muslims living in this country. Do you think they applaud what's been done? Perhaps we should round up all those of Muslim faith and keep them in concentration camps like we did to Japanese-Americans in WWII, just to be sure?

What needs to be done is for the CIA and FBI to stop pointing fingers at each other over who dropped the ball on this problem, put their heads together and find out who orchestrated this tragedy. Then the U.S. needs to locate these people and stamp them out.

Senseless and ignorant hatred and distrust of all Muslims isn't going to accomplish that, or help the situation any. It will simply cause more problems.

personally I fear for us all. there are I'm sure muslims now afraid to leave their homes because someone might visciously attack them in fear of their own life.
I believe that pyric is right about some foregn land giving shelter to soldiers ready to leave their home at nay moment and bomb upon ours. I think that is what we all fear. I do not think that we can wait for the next move. we should take it and pray that it is the last.

That is a possibility, however at this point it's purely speculation.
In any event, I doubt it would end up with every follower of Mohammed gathering under a banner of war against the U.S.
As I said, Muslims have their own sects and branches, and do not necessarily agree with one another.

I sincerely wish there is an army out there. It would give us a visible enemy and a decisive measure of force to deal with. Terrorist attacks like this are too unconventional for straightforward solutions.

during the second world war, many german and japanese imigrants returned to their mother countries to wage war and help the agressors war machine. many others that stayed were not so sympathetic and chose the americans to aid.

i cant generalize and say "well that those that stayed were sympathetic to the fundamentalist" but it is a fear that many americans will face will last untill whatever happens is over.

I highly doubt this will lead to war, I may not have a lot of faith in our government but they do have more sense (than a few I've come across on this board)...What reasons would the US have to bomb other countries simply because some little terrorist group attacked the US...the same stuff flew about when McVeigh bombed Oklahoma City, and he was just a little American boy.
There is a whole world of other super powers out there, and while we may have their sympathies, I doubt if many would support an unwarranted attack against a country based on ignorance, rumors and speculation. In the reverse, why would a country try to take on the whole world because they hate us?

I agree that that fear will be there. There were indeed Japanese and Germans that left the U.S. There were also 2nd and 3rd generation Americans of German and Japanese descent who had never set foot on German or Japanese soil. Just as I am sure there are people of Arabic descent who live in America who are here for a reason, instead of living in the Middle East.

The situation will not be helped by rampant paranoia and misfocused hate however. Let the professionals worry about espionage. I see no problem with revoking visas and sending home foreign nationals in time of war. Oppressing citizens simply because of their ethnic background or religious beliefs on the other hand I do not see as called for.
