We have been reading extensively into Islam since the atrocities of September 11th. The more we read, the more difficult the problem is to understand. This Moslem doctrine has enormous appeal to a great many people, but we are defeated by the question of why this is so. The Koran is the Word of God, as revealed by his prophet. (In Arabic the word prophet does not signify one who foretells the future, as in English, but rather the messenger of God, in this case.) After he became convinced that he was indeed the messenger of God, Mohammad had only to consult the most high in order to get the straight word on anything, from how many times to pray to how to beat your wife (carefully so as not to break any bones). The appeal here, it seems to me, is to the universal human failing of intellectual laziness. A Moslem does not have to think about things, but only to consult the Koran. There are certain problems in this where contradictions occur, but they are usually laid to inaccurate translation from that form of Arabic which is being consulted. Since Arabic is not a precise language, the mullahs can discuss these matters at length without arriving at definite conclusions.

This is a tough faith to combat, since it simply does not admit to any valid contradiction. We strongly recommend Serge Trifkovic's new book "The Sword of the Prophet," to those who wish to go into the matter.

Why would you want to "combat" islam.

It's an infinitely more peaceful religion than judaeism and has a much more sensible approach to life that Christianity.

Of course when you take into account that the bible has never been misinterpreted and that it is still in its literal form with no hazy issues, you should also take into account that the bible has never been misinterpreted deliberatly by anyone for their own ends to incite uneducated or gullable people to violence..

I think the fact that it has taken until now for the twisted factions of islam to grow to a dangerous level when all the others have "been there, got the t-shirt" shows how sensible it is.

Despite popular belief the iraqi state views Islam in the sensible, peaceful way.
That was the reason for the Iran Iraq war, Iran were trying to go the way of the Taliban and then enforce their ways on the rest of the region but Iraq were having none of it.

The original version of the koran was burnt off about 20 years after the prophets death in "order to preserve is authenticity" .. then later the latest ruler "carefully" added proper punctuation marks and pronunciation help in the new koran... what I don't understand is why the hell were the original versions torn up and burnt off?

Just like any other ancient texts the koran is full of contradictions, weird stuff, and totally freaky things.. It has lots of positive things too..

The funny thing is.. that if you ask a muslim about how they know that its the authentic version.. he/she is supposed to say.. "Its authentic because the koran says that god promised to keep it authentic and in its original form" ...

and when you say.. hey.. some human could have added that line in.. they put their fingers in their ears and run away crying.

Part of it say that its a peace loving universal religion.. but in other parts its laying down arabian cultural rules. it has some things relavent only for the period of time during which it was written.. and like.. wha?

So.. islam may essentially have been a peaceful religion.. but just like the bible about 60 years ago preached racism.. this also has been over written by humans.. and well.. it just shows how much peace it preaches.

No use killing of random muslim people.. heck.. a large part of my family is muslim.. some of them are freaking wiiiiiierdos.. some are just plain ole.. secular type everyday nice harmless people.. but their passports say Islam .. under religion..

so... sure.. go ahead and defend your self.. your people.. the world against the brain dead fundies who like to blow things up.. but generalizing everyone under that group is not right.

I meant historically and didn't mean any offence, I was comparing the religious texts not the religions as they are practiced.

The Koran preaches peace however in some cases it isn't practiced that way.

Yeah, the Koran preaches peace, but even in Mohammed's time lots of violence was comitted in the name of Islam and accepted...Although the Koran does condone violence at some point (I think defending Islam violently is OK, but not forcing it on others)

The Koran preaches violence against the evil and peace against one's neighbors and the righteous. As does the Torah. And the Bible.

CHeck the hhistory books. Ask Muslim scholars.. Do a search on for Kaliph Uthman (Usman) and you will see that it is a fact accepted by muslims thats the original version as left by the prophet was burnt and no originals were left behind. They justify it by saying that he only corrected the pronnciation and grammer. And the fall of the just empire of islam was during the reign of Usman.

there is nothing in judaism or its bible that reveries in any kind of violence. unless you have some sort of proof, i believe that what you've said in that respect is definitely bullshit.

Try actually reading the bible, Genisis to the book of kings should do.
