You were both mature enough to take it to the bitchboard and it hasnt carried on in this thread, so there isnt any major problem here. Every forum and thread in Serious Discussions has a anti flaming policy but there isnt very many mods (or admins *cough*) around anymore that will do anything with the site let alone mod it. I`d like to change that but that would mean picking a new mod out of a group of people who are in almost complete opposition to one or more poster in this section.

Suggestions on a postcard please.

Hell all this just depends on your point of view. To us, they are insurgents or terrorists, to others they are holy warriors fighting the army of the devil.

Yes. People are social. We will always form into groups, large and small, when two groups come into conflict, they will fight. This will never change.

I'm talking about human nature, you're talking about weapons. The weapon doesn't matter. The capacity for intelligent thought and creativity to improve the weapon doesn't matter. Those things can't trump some of the more animal instincts.

The weapon does matter, since it is a reflection not only of the mentality but the fact that we are capable of adjusting to new and radical ideas.

Nonsense. We trump animal instincts ALL THE TIME. Well I do anyway, I can't speak for you. Why I am currently not out and about either a) foraging for food or b) sniffing girls' arses? Because I am in control of such instincts. Not all people form gangs and fight each other. They have control over that instinct. What is absolutely clear is that if you consciously decide not to control that instinct then it is very unlikely that you will.

We still forage for food. We go to work, get money, then go to the designated food foraging facility, the grocery store.

You don't sniff girl's asses? In public, when first meeting a girl, we talk, but aside from the more civilized method, it still amounts to sniffing a girl's ass.

No, Synikul. Sticking your nose down close to a girls ass and sniffing it amounts to sniffing a girls ass. Whether or not you do that is a consious choice.

Plus to forage is to search, we don't really search for food, we just select it, since its all there in front of us.
