I'm into stuff that involves more teaching and less worshipping. I'm a big fan of Buddhism and Taoism, for instance. Any religions that tries to teach me what I should do to live a fulfilling life without damning me to hell every 30 seconds is cool.

I personally wouldn't worship anyone who posts on DF. God's probably the one responsible for all those "busy server" messages. Clever man.

and yet I never get them. I get data not found messages though, which is because of the same problem. Maybe God thinks I`m Jewish or something.

I agree with you on the teaching thing. I should look more into Buddhism when I have the time.

I definitely trust religions with smaller historical body counts and edicts that are less harmful to the phsyche. Although a good friend of mine once pointed out to me that almost all major religions can be boiled down to a few basic tenants.

it's when large masses of people embrace those "few basic tenants" that have been stated as the way by charismatic leaders...that basic human needs are overlooked for the greater greed...or something like that.

Humankind has a horrifying propensity to take good ideas and completely fuck them up.

i think it's an emotional thing...if there were no emotions, i don't think there'd be any conflict...what an awfully boring world.
