So now all goths are pierced and must listen to Manson and Korn.

This sounds more like a Romeo and Juliet type of story, I think we should blame Shakespeare.

I think I have seen exactly the same type of thing described here: “markings, piercings and scratches” that is at many “biker bars”.

So the parents paid no attention, and I doubt sincerely that “knot tying” was a normal course of entertainment when you were spending time with your girlfriend… or else the parent’s REALLY aren’t paying attention…

Her parents let her date a 23 year old at the age of 15? Where was this girl’s father?

… and the police failed to follow up on an underage missing person’s case, or investigate her known friends… no social worker followed up either with a case INVOLVING an underaged teen!

Then why didn’t anyone else on the police force?

Uhmmmm? Hello? There is no white, black, good or bad magic. Magic doesn’t hurt people, people hurt people using it in a harmful manner. And btw, not all ‘Goth’s’ know squat about the occult arts.

What exactly is a heavy or light Goth? Reminds me of a carbohydrate commercial. Yogurt Light. Goth Light. Goth “Half and half”.

Witnesses everywhere will also tell you that there are people in many different groups that will harm themselves.

I would think spirituality is a good thing. And contrasting religions? EXCELLENT free thinking!

Again, this is what seriously irks me about the media. They take all these items, attempt to put it into context, create a scenario and BAM: “Goth’s” are bad, suicidal, depressed, Satanists who are out to hurt their friends and their lovers. No responsibility put onto the parents for looking out for their own children, no responsibility put on the police for lack of follow up, no responsibility put upon friends to watch out for each other.

So what did we have here? A couple of unhappy people (that shouldn’t even been allowed to date (in my humble opinion)) who fed off each others unhappiness… For the love of God man, there are people out there all over the place. I suppos the mentally ill woman who threw her three children over the bridge into the San Francisco Bay was goth too.

… as usual, the “goth” label brings forward visions of teenagers in trench costs carrying weapons, wearing makeup and out to do the worst they can to society.

Last night on CNN I watched as the kids at his high school were interviewed. This idiot kid said: WTF?

Excuse me for just a second here “Mr. uninformed infantile egomaniac”. I consider myself a member of the goth subculture. And it isn’t because I wear makeup (well yeah – duh), and it isn’t because I wear certain clothes.

And excuse me Mr. News Media, but who the heck do you think you are allowing that type of label being put on a certain group of people?

I will tell you what a Goth is. It’s a person who has the sincerity, appreciation and intelligence to know when to stand up for the right thing. It’s a person that doesn’t fall into the mainstream idea’s of the rest of society. That person is not afraid to dress differently that others to show who they are, nor do they hate, kill or oppress others viewpoints. It's a lot of other things, but Goth does not equal killer.

Yes, there are a few bad apples, there are few who are confused, but I would say the same of every single other group of people in the world including but not limited to Christians, Hindu’s, Moslim’s (hello Saddam), business leaders, political activists and everyone else who chooses to be part of a group of people that show their differences in many ways.

Another kid on CNN said Maybe because as a group of people we accept the outcasts, maybe it’s because as a group we don’t judge others, maybe because as a group we realize that there are many facets to a person, and together we are stronger when we support each other. Maybe you should be investigating his home life, not the group he was involved in. I know none of my friends would think less of me for playing a sport, I know none of them think less of me for volunteering my time.


All that *points up*…was garbage. What is important in this article? I’ll tell you MY opinion.

THE KIDS HOME LIFE SUCKED! It had nothing to do with being a goth, it had everything to do with how he was raised. I don’t do drugs, I don’t steal credit cards, I don’t beat people, and neither do the friends I have. And THEY are all as goth as I am, and I’m proud of them for being strong enough to be themselves.

I want the media to stop generating drama, I want them to report the facts, not the biased opinions of the mainstream. Do NOT judge me because I look different than you, do not judge me for not being afraid to stand up to you for what I believe in.

I will tell you what you may do: you MAY judge me for killing someone, but you may not judge my entire group of friends for it as well. I mean, Ted Bundy was a lawyer wasn’t he? Does that make all lawyers serial killers? As much as I would like to make a joke about that, I will refrain.

I think a light goth would be someone who shops at Hot Topic, and likes to dance in a goth club on the weekend, but is otherwise fairly normal.

Stereotypes have to come from somewhere. People don't just make the shit up. It's been my experience that anyone who claims to be gothic and is under the age of 30 is usually a tard. They seem to be whiny, boring, and self-centered.

Anyone with half a brain realizes that intelligent, laid-back "goth" kids are extremely rare. It's evident by this message board, the vampire message board, and yours, water.

It seems to me that lifestyle choices are being used to excuse acts of stupidity and/or violence.

So, take away the superficial layers and you have a likely egotistical and self-hating 23 year old asshole who probably domineered an insecure and self-hating 15 year old dumb bitch into some melodramatic bullshit relationship where they killed themselves. Add together 1 fucktard and 1 easily led teenager and the results remain the same whether they shop at Hot Topic or Old Navy for their mass-produced quasi-subcultural needs.

Werd. Instead of getting up in arms because people are giving goths a bad name (ha. as if they need to try...), think about it logically. 2 people made a stupid decision. Suicide is weak. I don't care what the reason.

And as for the other kid, water says he turned goth because they're more accepting and less judgemental.

Maybe if someone HAD judged him, they would have seen his obvious potential for violence. Instead of accepting him as he was, he should have been recognized as what he was and rehabilitated.

Please... No one knows what "goth" is. Everyone will give you a different definition. Goths aren't any more special, witty, intelligent, or artistic than anyone else. Just more annoying. And fatter.

Few can be intelligent, or artistic, and yes I said a FEW. Not all goths are fat either, I take slight offense to that. annoying, yeah the wannabes are. but your right, they are no more special than any other human, but then why does society treat them differently or specially?
