Since when is goth a culture? If it is its designed around set actions and aesthetics one of them being suicide. sterotypes are what goth is built on for chrissakes.

your right there... but non the less, making fun of those individuals does not help much... yeah, alot of people have bad incidents and happenings, but some people cannot handle it like you two do and did handle it. No the goth that is being ripped off for todays teens was originally ripped off by morons in the 80s from the 1800s Romantic literary period of which gothic writing was a sub-genre. Edgar Allen Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker etc.

The True goths were barbarians who had been invading the Romans for 100s of years about 2000 years before the gothic writing genre was even born.

I'm not trying to validate or invalidate any particualr group. What I consider myself is completely diffrerent than any sterotype.

What I find offensive is the media clinging to any remote thing they can to turn this negative against a group of so-called outcasts.

I would be offended if the media did this to any group. It pisses me off that they take a roundhouse gang approach in reporting and I consider it a huge reason as to why there is so much division in the world.
