I'm glad you're here because there are many things I've been wanting to talk to you about...if you can't handle a lot of questions at once..let me break it down for you if that's easier.

First of all...explain to me why thousands of my Jewish ansestors were KILLED in cold blooded murder...what did they do to you?? What fucking terrible thing could they have done to derserve to die such horrible deaths?????

If God ever did just appear... I don't know if the people who follow and praise him would be enough to protect him from the people who despise and hate him.

I've never quite understood this kind of logic. You didn't mention it specifically, but it sounds like you're speaking of the Holocaust.
Why does it have to be that just because God did nothing to stop it, that it necessarily follows that he actually wanted it to happen?

So by analogy, let us say that someone on this board swears at you, calls you all manner of horrible things and makes you feel miserable. If I do nothing to reprimand this person or to make you feel better, does it mean that I wanted it to happen?

I think she is just asking those questions because... to put it simply, no one can answer them. I ask the same things all the time about many things that happen. I believe in God, so when these horrible things happen... I think he truly isn't what so many people say...

This isn't just someone swearing to her, Shadow... This is her past and in her past, millions were tortured and murdered and the only reason she knows why that happened is because Hitler was a fucking psycho. And to some people, that isn't enough. They want answers from God. And when people are angry about something that means a pretty good bit to them, they can get pretty pissed. I do the same thing she does... Most everytime a "God" thread comes up, I usually talk about how much I'd enjoy doing a Loraina Bobbit on the asshole for letting masses of people die... When all I hear is that he is the greatest thing in the universe, that he's all-powerful, etc. When a God this praised, worshipped, and glorified does nothing when something so incredibly horrible happens what is a person to think??? How can they accept that? What Angel does, is she thinks God wanted it to happen for some reason... And I think considering what happened... It is logical for her to think that.

I think we`re either confusing God`s actions or lack of action with Hitlers.No religion that spans hundreds or years or more is without the stain of blood on its hands, you could ask why God did every and anything at all but you wouldnt like the answers, which is basicaly IMO "I`m God,shut up"

I'm not sure exactly what you were trying to say there...you got a little muddled at the end. Are you asking what if the Holocaust was to be more horrible, but God came and intervened, saving the ones that were still alive?

If that were the case, it would leave us with a couple of possible options.

1) God couldn't save them all. This means God isn't all-powerful, something most people won't agree with or don't want to consider.

2) God only saved those who were faithful. Seeing as how I'm reading a book currently for school written by an Auschwitz survivor, and for a time he hated God, I don't see this as an option.

God let the Jews suffer for a period...possibly as penance for some wrong. Again, not something people would readily accept...unless they have overdeveloped guilt complexes.

I was making an analogy, Loki. I realize that someone verbally abusing her isn't anywhere near the horror of the Holocaust. I'm just saying that it doesn't make sense to believe that just because I don't do anything about it means that I want it to happen. In the same regard, just because God didn't stop millions from being killed in Hitler's death camps, it doesn't follow that he wanted it to happen.

Perhaps God, contrary to popular opinion, doesn't really care...
