How come in the bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth- I thank my close friend Mary Jane for coming to the realization of such a profound acronym) only good things happen to good people and only bad things happen to bad people? Some guy's body is unexplainably covered with a flesh eating fungi, why? CAUSE HE WAS WICKED, BLAHHH BLAHH! A village is flooded and all perish, why? BECAUSE THEY WERE SINNERS, BLLAAAHHH BLAHHHH! Oh come on with that bullshit, what about the priest who gets stabbed 46 times by a one legged mexican with a switchblade, all over the tattered five dollar bill in his pocket and one of his shiny new shoes? Is that "God's way!"? Does it really make sense to you that an inspirational hero amongst the community is slain viciously, while some guy gets to stay with us and slay/rob more of our peaceful charitable icons and maybe one of us sheep? Is that your GOD's WAY? Is that worth filling yourself up with hopes for a better exsistence after this one instead of focusing on changing the world we live in now? Hey lets all wait til were dead to have harmony, that sounds good, fuck it lets split up into different groups and soon cause war and conflict and indifferentcy- then turn our backs to everything saying "Well if you beleived in what beleive in then this wouldn't of happened!!".. No fuck you, and fuck the horse you rode in on. If every religion just accepted that hell, just maybe what we heard, from a guy who saw a guy who heard from a guy who read a book by some guy who wrote about a guy who was married to a guy who knew a guy who once stood near a guy who was the guy who revised some guy's book about the guy who told some guy to write a book about what some voice in his head told him, could be wrong. Maybe its just your twist and spin on the ever changing, unexplainable chunk of hovering rock we call earth, that is wrong? Just maybe no one can EVER, EVER, fully understand and explain how things started or how things will end. So why not keep your mind open to the possibli-fucking-ty that every thing anyone ever beleived in or will beleive in may in fact be a small peice of the puzzle you call truth. Hmm, ever think of that? I personally have only respected the religion called science which takes cold hard facts and puts them together to explain things that make you go hmmm. If you beleive in science you have less things to ponder, dwell on, or wonder about, because no matter how fast you're little head imagines, someone at one point in time has already thought about, stumbled upon-researched-explained- with such logic then only a hard head would stand up and say "Well then how come so many people think god did it, huh?". Lets face it, with religion you beleive what someone tells you to beleive. With science you beleive what someone beleived, gave evidence to prove, was then proved wrong by another person who had more logical evidence, and then everyone in the feild couldn't give any harder evidence to prove him wrong. Guess what, if it turns out that something just so happened to be common sense (or now is) then thats just the best explanation possible. Prove me wrong......

Im new to these boards... Also how did i contradict myself? I said science gives the best explanation possible, not the fully REAL explanation (as like I said, no one can fully understand or explain or claim to for that matter). Please respond with haste.

anyways, in my opinion religion has some truth in it as does science but i wouldnt call either 100% correct.

because although science explains alot of things, it doesnt explain EVERYTHING. besides, if you think about it, science too is about a bunch of people who got together and said "this is the way it is!" and thats pretty much how the bible was created.

A big important part that you're missing in that glib response is that a bunch of people (scientists) got together and said "this is the way it is" after gathering evidence via scientific method that supports their belief, rather than relying on religious dogma. Also, if later evidence disproves something, they'll change their belief system...because their belief doesn't rely on faith, but rather on fact.

There is a science community. But they don't all agree.

There are a lot of people out there that justify their hurtfull action towards eachother. It doesn't matter if it was God, Jesus, the Devil, their Mom, an Ex or the doughnut they ate earlier. Usually people grow out of it. Clearly if someone hurts someone else and tries to justify it, they are insane or immature.

The entire science community agree on FACTS!!!! it is only when it comes to theory that they disagree...

take for instance GRAVITY... all scientists throughout all the fields recognize it as SCIENCE FACT...... yet there are constant disagreements on how and why it works..... the apple does not hover in the air whilst the arguments continue.... the same can be said of evolution.... all scientists throughout all the fields of science agree that evolution is SCIENCE FACT...... yet they may disagree on how and why it works.... yet evolution occurs every day whether we argue about it or not....

God is and always will be.He is not physical but spiritual.

Read Job 38-40, it talks a little about dinosaurs. Nothing special. But the bible is not about talking about every little thing. Its God's wisdom for us, His love for us, and the standard for us to go by. It is Gods word.
