A small ranch in northern Utah may be the strangest place on Earth...

First of two parts.

I'm sitting on a white plastic chair in what seems like total darkness. Strapped to my chest and shoulders is an array of electronic gear--microphones, a video camera, a box that detects magnetic changes and a Geiger counter. Somewhere in the mix is a flashlight, the only device whose function I understand, and thus, the only device I cannot find.

In front of me, I can almost make out the sinister shapes of some truly spooky trees. Malevolent bugs are buzzing in and out of my eyes and ears, and it occurs to me that there must be a tavern open somewhere nearby, even in this remote corner of Utah. One hundred or more yards away, beyond a barbed-wire fence and a little creek, are my fellow paranormal rangers, equipped with their own video cameras, night-vision glasses and assorted scientific gear. They are supposed to be watching me to see if anything happens.

On this night, I am the bait. Bait for what, I wonder? The unspoken hope is my own inherent weirdness quotient might give me some sort of connection to the undeniably odd energy, or entity, that seems to have concentrated itself on this remote rural community, and, in particular, on this small ranch where I now sit, waiting for something to announce its presence.

Some very strange things have happened at the precise spot where I'm sitting. It is here that a visitor was accosted by a roaring but nearly invisible creature, something akin to the Predator of movie fame. It is here that a Ph.D. physicist reported that his mind was invaded, literally taken over, by some sort of hostile intelligence that warned him that he was not welcome. It is here that an entire team of researchers watched in awe as a bright door or portal opened up in the darkness and a large humanoid creature crawled out before quickly vanishing. And it is here that several animals--cattle and dogs--were mutilated, obliterated or simply disappeared.

For as long as anyone can remember, this part of northeastern Utah has been the site of simply unbelievable paranormal activity. UFOs, Sasquatch, cattle mutilations, psychic manifestations, creatures that aren't found in any zoos or textbooks, poltergeist events. You name it, residents here have seen it.

this is the kind of thing that actually makes me think....and makes me a little scared...

it'd be cool if it was really like that, but it would seem, we'll never know...

Cool? Usually I admire your intelligence Jordyn but I have to say that these accounts do not sound at all cool or fun.

to see something that so many say is impossible on a physically possible level...that those things i've had people tell me don't exist...do!

it's cool because i know of several other areas that strange things like this happen at...not to that extreme, but definitly strange, and works on a theory i've had for some times concerning such...places.

and cool for the conversation that my hubby and i had about dimensional doors and everything that could be...it was fun because he's sci fi and i'm fantasy...it's nice finding something with a common grain.

besides our marriage

i'd live there! but i'd love to visit the house in amityville too...i have a fascination with places like that...to see if they are really that frightening, or like other creatures of the occult...react to people on a personal basis?

it's something i heard and discussed many years ago, when the new age was just coming into popularity...it was talking about places around the earth that surround sources of...power(i kind of like the crossing of ley lines concept)

when things are going as predicted, it's those who by...some reasoning ended up in places, they'll meet others to help them on the path, and to prepare...

i do believe histroy repeats itself, and there is a grand cycle to life...we're coming to the end of a rotation...it's time to...go up the next step

*thinking about it, it seems there was a map drawn of the areas that would survive if the natural...alterings of the earth were to happen(floods, fire, etc.)

Here is the explenation that I have come up with to explain the ranch. Naturally there are places in the world where dimensional bounderies are weaker than in other places on the Earth. In certain dimesions entities of hostile and negative sentiment have found ways to exploit these gateways and too make themselves manifest in our dimension.

So you feel that this phenomenon indicates that we are moving into a new epoch of somekind?

no, just that as more people spread out, the more instances of people discovering them...

the gathering aspect is just something that...kind of...ties in.

That is an interesting story. I'm suprised George Knapp would be reporting this as he doesn't usually go into areas on cryptozoology or the paranormal and sticks mainly with the UFO phenemonon specifically.
