I agree with some points of that article you put up, Billy. I don't think it's quite as bad as that, it's just a few women making the rest of us look bad. Just like it's the rapists and wife abusers that make most men look bad too.
But I particularly liked the point that gender studies should be taught from a more scientific point of view. There are differences hardwired into us, but just try to remember that it's all on an individual level. I've been critisized more than once for "thinking like a man", and my boyfriend for "thinking like a woman". I think we're just not as extreme when it comes to "gender roles". Femninists are extreme, and they give most women a bad name. They're just more outspoken than the people who just don't give a damn. Early in life I had to choose between honest arrogance and hypocritical humility. I chose the former, and have seen no reason to change.

50 years ago, you wouldn't have a woman as a graphic designer, but now they dominate all design tertiary institute, and slowly we are taking over the design world. 50 years ago a woman would have been persuaded not to study graphic design. | okay now if your going to compare the 2000s with the 1950s you need to think a bit more about the differences, love. let's just cut the bullshit now...as a whole males are physically stronger than females. i am by no means sexist by believing that; it's a biological fact. it cannot be argued or disproved. that's it, the end.
some of the differnces between the 1950s and now is safety and technology. yes nowadays you will find more women is a generally male dominated job. construction in the 1950s was not as safe and reliable as it is today. back then if i were an employer i would probably hire a male to work for me. i will want somebody that could physically handle the work. they would have to lift heavy loads 8-10 hours a day five sometimes six days a week. now days sure you will find women in construction and other physically harsh jobs. but not because they are dominating over men. it's because technology is dominating over all man. all you have to do is learn how to drive a tractor, bulldozer, crane, etc,. yes i now it's not just pulling levors and pushing buttons, but it's not the same as the 1950s.
and from what i understand about feminism is that when is first came about they told women that they could have everything they want. well, apparently men have everything (i dont believe so). what does that tell you? they want to turn the table. Death's End, Sorrow's Reign

Women still make piss poor carpenters, I know I am in the construction industry. They cant compete as laborers or journeymen.
THe women in the 50s and 60s were tricked more than given what they wanted. 1st they were told that men were thier enemies, then they told them that they didnt need men.
Fast forward and you have a lot of angry lonly single childless career women bitching about what bastards men are these days.
Where did the men go? To China, Russia and South America to find wives who arent ashamed of being women.

i was not saying that construction is not dangerous, im just saying it is safer now than it was 50 years ago. when i was 16 my parents shipped me off to West Texas to work on my grandfather's ranch. that summer we happened to be building new water wells for the cattle(basically a big bowl in the ground with a 40 yard diameter). in order to dig it we used and old bulldozer from the 70s. well back then i was about 5'8" and 135 lbs. i'd say that's the size of an average adult women. it didnt take too much for me to drive and use that thing. and unless your a grunt construction worker, you will agree. the only hard part was getting used to the gears and controls, after that it was smoothe sailing.
oh and carpentry isnt exactly the most physical job in the world either. all you have to do is make measurments and good cuts. gender has nothing to do with that. it just depends on how well you learned and will learn. infact, if your building a building an average size women would be perfect for the roofing...
i do agree that women cant compete as journeymen and laborers, but hat's because they dont try compete at all (unless you get some extreme feminist of course, but im talking about the average woman). Death's End, Sorrow's Reign

Its pretty obvious you dont know anything about carpentry and construction then. Carpentry is more than measuring and cutting, in fact its a lot of carrying of heavy objects, many women cant wield the size hammers used to nail through thick wood. Again like I said I work in the industry, women make the worst carpenters and they drag the rest of the crews down in speed. When the women carpenters need male carpenters to carry thier tool boxes and wood loads in addition to thier own... well you get my drift. same thing with the military.

Not all of 'em are roid rangers. I agree to an extent that the majority of women, as a whole, do not have the thickness of frame that men do. But there are some out there.
Just like there are male figure skaters.

Go figure. | Actually yes they are all roid ragers, the ones who "are natural" just use roids that arent traceable in drug tests yet, or who have a natural chemical imbalance. It would be hard to call these people women, especially since thier menstral cycles stop, they start growing adams apples, lose thier breasts and stop being able to get pregnant.
Thats what MALE hormones will do to ya.
And your average male figure skater isnt a weakling, it takes a lot of upper body strength to grab a woman who weighs 110 pounds and hoist her over your head with 1 hand. especially while on skates.

It was a joke. Obviously not a very funny one.
But no, the idea that they are ALL on steroids seems a bit assumptious and overbearing. I know girls that could beat me at armwrestling, and they don't use roids. And I am not a small person.
Although, for those scary super-cut women on that website, yeah, you're probably right. They are all on roids. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I figure the central question in gender studies is not social or political, but personal. "Am I doing what I want to be doing? Am I responsible as I ought to be?" One of the major constraints on a personal feeling of liberation is one's gender role.
There are expectations that are laid upon men and women to act, look, and feel certain ways at certain times. These are, for the most part, empty of lasting value insofar as they are different for men and women. Likewise, there are plenty of things for which men and women are excused of personal responsibility. I think that society's excusing you from responsibility does not actually mean anything.
Historically, feminism has been critical in empowering women in the field of business, politics, and law. Contrary to Billy, I really think it's a cowardly man with a weak understanding of himself who views feminazism as a threat to his masculinity.
Self-respect and mutuality is the next correct move for both genders. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
