Evolution does not prove where everything came from. Its just an idea.

Now you say that neither does creation, and that it is just an idea.

And you would be right, but there are facts of answered prayers, and experiences with God, that you have not seen yet.

I think there may be many people who do believe there is a God, it's just that there are various expressions and descriptions of how they see their God. And your way does not have to be their way. You don't have to convince anyone but yourself of what you believe.

The details of evolution are up for debate, but that Earth has existed for at least several hundred million years, and that there has never been a point where every species that would exist did exist at the same time, are not. These are facts. The "facts" for Creationism, however, are practically non-existant. Conservative Christians do little besides try to pick at Evolutionism, using mostly unfounded claims (a favorite is to say, in the case of fossils or evidence that would certainly shatter any strict interpretation of the Bible, that the piece has been "declared a fraud", but then provide no evidence that this is the case), semantical arguments, and flat-out lies (such as claiming that there are stalacites on the Lincoln Memorial). They also like to act as if disproving a specific point of a specific branch of evolution theory disproves every aspect of evolutionary theory.


Evolution isn't flawless, but few Christian conservatives do a decent job of arguing with it.

I am not here to argue evolution. I don't have to, its not fact. Plan and simple it does not prove where everything came from.
So no use wasting my time.

I have seen and done healings, and I am here to tell you that there is in fact a God. Based on my word, from my experiences.
You can either call me a lier, or you can keep an open mind, and think, well it could be possible. Then with that open mind go look into it for yourself.

I am not against science. I just basicly do what you guys do. Say what I have heard, and read.

Almost everyone, probably everyone agrees that there is micro evolution, that this is fact. Thats cool with me, I don't even know what that means.

One day evolution will answer that question.... as of now that question only has theoretical answers.... yet this does not disprove evolution... as it does occur... you cannot tell me where your god comes from or why he does what he does.... this inability to answer does not disprove the existence of your god.....

Evolution isn't supposed to answer the question of where everything came from, per say. It answers why there is such diversity of life on this planet. Though if you look back far enough, everything on earth started out as single-celled organisms.

Where did the first spark of life come from? God? A freak occurence of the proper combination of chemicals and energy? A combination of both...perhaps God manipulated those chemicals and energy to produce life, then let the rest go from there?

Either way, the story of creation in the bible is simply that, a story. It was handed down orally from generation to generation amongst a prehistoric people in order to explain things that they themselves had no comprehension of. It was a way of answering those base questions that inevitably rise in all concious beings: Who are we? Why are we here? What is our destiny?

Science can't provide the "why" of things, but it does a significantly better job of explaining the "how" of things better than tales of a primitive people.

I find it the epitome of everything that's wrong with modern society that the people who inhabit it always assume that no one before their own century was born with a brain cell.

The argument that evolution does not explain everything, so it must not be viable, is illogical. The fact that it attemtps to explain no more than what it can is an argument for WHY it should be believed, not the other way around.

You're right, cause they only know what was around them. Nowadays you can learn about ANYTHING on the internet. Those people back then were ignorant because they thought much you do- what they think is the undisputable truth. I can't agree with you here. There was such a thing as learning and education before the Internet. If anything, the Internet has worsened some areas of education, not enhanced them.

Not all religions teach intolerance and blind faith. The Jewish religion not only expects questioning of the Torah by students, it's encouraged.

Intelligence and faith are not necessarily mutually exclusive. There are people who are able to accept evolution and still be Christians. The problem I have with Christianity are those who look at the world through tunnel vision and think that anything that doesn't directly relate to the Bible is anti-Christian and devil-spawned. The problem I have with organized religion in general is when it is used to justify abuses, discrimination, and war in the name of what's "right".
