Newly released statistics reported October 13th show that since the British government passed one of the most stringent gun bans in the world in 1997, Britain's murder rate has risen to its highest level since records began being kept 100 years ago.

People need to realize that banning guns isn't going to put a dent in crime, as any criminal with half a brain would just get the gun illegally anyways. Banning guns just takes away an effective means of self defense.

And to those that disagree with that, answer me this: You're a 5'3" 105 pound female. A 6'8" 300 pound guy grabs you and tells you that he's going to rape you. What would you rather do - get raped because you tried some meaningless means of self defense, or shoot his ass and not only save your own life, but rid the world of another rapist?

Use a tazer/not go out by yourself at night/use a short knife and go to town on this thigh or arms.

However, no matter how many times we've said it you won't listen. ENglands Violent assault rate is about the same per capita as the US, yet our death rate (Especially firearms death rate) is only about 1/8 to 1/20 (pending on studies) of the US... we may be at a 100 year high, but we still have a far lower rate then the US especially when you look at comparative rates and see that the majority of murders in the US are firearms related....

We dont have too many NRA members but thats besides the point, almost 90% of our members are democrats because Democrats favor the working class, while right wing conservatives favor "theoretical" all american values we can all get patriotic and teary over, and yet they favor big business. I also worked for a country club as a server and waiter, 99.9% of my customers and members of the COuntry club were white, christian, conservatives.
