some days i see and hear things that make me believe, and start plannning an escape plan to the mountain caves with a lot of ammunition and guns, other days i'm completely disbelieving anything beyond natural swings in the earth's cycles, but what if there are some who have predicted such atrocities, are right?

Beat you to that already, I have started stock piling guns and ammo, and I know just the spot about 5 miles east of here. At any rate, it really pisses me off because he is doing to get believers and money, and that is just fucked plain and simple. I say that we will go where ever Fate dictate. If Fate dictates that we are to fuck up the planet so bad that the over night low is in the 200's then that is what shall happen. If we are to bring about an Iceage that is so cold it freezes the nuts and tits off of a penguin, then so it shall be, if we are fated to bring about balance, and peace, then that is what will happen. I choose to take predictions with a grain of salt, release myself to the flow of fate, less stressful Farewell Little Brother, You Shall be Missed 1989-2007 I'm gonna kick you ass for this though

This sort of talk is why I'm so good at self medicating. I remember when I was six I had canned goods and a BB gun hidden out in the woods in case a landwar started in my backyard. I've since just taken up drinking. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

that's the nice thing about living in a tiny valley known for mountain men and militia...and only two ways in or out, without a flying vehicle or knowing the mountains.
what i do like are those who rather than predict the dire events about to happen, explain the ways to tell something is happening by how various aspects of nature like animals and insects are acting...i had one guy tell me when i see a massive amount of bugs scurrying along the ground, to quickly follow them and hide *shrugs* so i do watch the nature around me...and it's not boding well for them.
i guess i have more faith in nature than any psychic's prediction, when the animals hide, i'm going with them, if we're out of balance, nature is out of balance, something's going to tip and pour out.
but i don't need a pat robertson to tell me that...god won't save us, only we can save us. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

east coast, isn't where the hurricanes are supposed to go?
i remember my first hurricane, amazing...until afterwards and we had to do the cleanup, wait in line for hours to get the little bit of gas that was left, and realized how perfect ice is when there's no running water or electricity.
i'd rather deal with earthquakes and volcanoes, angel fish do survive nicely however for over a week with no air. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Up north here (I'm near New York City) we don't get hit by hurricanes all the time, only occasionally. The people down south get the worst of the hurricanes I would think. Back in '98 we did get a tornado-type thing tearing around up here and I was without electricity at the house for about five days. That was wacky. I was born in Virginia, but moved away so young, and have lived on the western part of the U.S. since. Hurricanes don't even seem real to me. Just images on a T.V.
Been through a couple small earthquakes, which was a weird feeling, but not as terrifying as people make it out to be.
I dunno, if it's time to die, it's time to die. Might die tonight from food poisoning or get hit by a car just as easily (and more likely) than a natural disaster. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Or from eating bacon cheese fries...
See, the way I look at it is since all those prophecies were written, I'm sure someone somewhere has looked at them and in their "now" has said they would happen at that time. Time and all things go through cycles. I don't see what part of that is so difficult to understand. My personal favorite chuckle I get is that these people who claim to be such devout Christians (emphasis on followers of Christ) and who take everything he said to be the truth and worth following seem to forget something he said when they predict these end times disasters...that Christ said "no one knows the day or the hour when the Son of Man cometh [sic]". In other words, they seem to be totally blowing off the fact that the very person who they claim to follow told them they wouldn't know when the judgment day would come, yet they are like, "Oh, no, we figured it out!" and everyone's answers (though completely different) are the right ones, the only ones.
I had to put up with being terrorized by this as a child. My parents were going to a heavy-duty Pentecostal church for a while and prior to that they were Catholic (so you probably can understand part of the reason why I've had to untangle a lot spiritually over my lifetime). I find it interesting because they don't even go to church now.
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like poking these people and saying "DUHHHH...HELLO?" "Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people."---C. G. Jung

i've stopped trying to figure out their sensibilities, years ago...when following their faith, and realized...there's nothing i could rationalize with.
one doesn't have to be psychic, just has to note the differences in unseasonable hot weather in northern half of the nation, severe weather in the southern part of the nation and the spreading threat of water shortages and droughts spreading through the industrialized world to see, something is happening with the environment...
some of these people seem to place more faith in their own creations, than in their own human nature, and our intricate ties with it. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

| That used to frighten me too. You'd be amazed at the images a child's mind can conjure. I think it would be interesting to talk with Marilyn Manson if a lot of what he's written in his autobiography is true; we'd have a lot in common. I also used to picture a lot of the things in the Book of Revelation literally (instead of metaphorically)...I used to imagine the star falling from heaven and landing in my backyard, and seeing the Four Horsemen coming galloping through the clouds, etc. "Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people."---C.
