When it pertains to souls, some believe them to be of the most importance, to be that which gives us life and keeps us constant.
Also some religions/beliefs pertain to the multiple amount of portions to a soul.
So here's a thought, what if an ability existed where you could steal the soul, the life of another person? Would this then grant you even more life? Or would you still perish in the end?

Yes, this is possible and I've seen it happen. IMO it is highly unethical and I probably will never do it. One person can steal the lifeforce (not really the soul) of another, making him- or herself stronger, healthier and live longer. The person drained diminishes, gets sick, weakens and loses some of their lifespan. It's a pretty sad thing to see. I know how to do it, and it isn't that hard, but I don't think I'd ever teach anyone... I don't know how long you could increase your lifespan with this, but I do know that reopeated self-destructive activities and disease can still take a life prolonged with this technique.

I know how to drain the life from someone, not that I would want to, nor do I teach it but if you were to drain a soul which is different, it wouldn't just add up to living longer it would also mean adding another person so the correct statement would be:
You could take part of a soul to strengthen yourself (or alternatively give someone else part of your soul to help them) and not get a split personality... the lost parts do eventually grow back. Unless there was a soul problem to begin with, I don't think it would change physical circumstances much.

thinking about it...either way i would not. I'd be taking on everything that soul consisted of...everything it's been through...i've got enough to worry about in my life...why add in the existance of another...unless you have a soul filter or something

An extra decade of this life isnt worth the next three of your lives being a living hell.
